We saw a movie here in one of their standard theaters a few weeks ago. The theater was old and a bit dated, seeming, bur very large, and had comfy, yet standard seats. It sounded like the center channel speaker was blown in that theater as the sound was very quiet when characters were speaking from the middle versus sides of the screen. It was hard to hear what they were saying, and I had to strain to hear the movie, which made my viewing experience less pleasant.
Additionally, a patron behind me was loudly snoring throughout the entire movie, and nothing was done to stop this customer from disrupting everyone else's viewing experience. I don't totally blame the theater for this, but it kinda ruined the movie for me, and I feel like the theater should have staff there to monitor the movie, and if they had that, they could ask excessively loud patrons like this one to stop disrupting other viewers.
I also was a bit annoyed by concessions here as I wanted a small popcorn, but didn't see one on the menu, so ordered something else. Then after I ordered, I realized they did have a small sized bag of popcorn displayed, but for some reason that size is not listed on the menu at all...only the larger sizes were shown. Idk why they wouldn't list all sizes available or if I misinterpreted the bags I saw, that's also weird there would be no small size options.
The only plus side of this theater was it was cheaper than others around and seats were comfy (although compared to recliners at other theaters, these were...
Read morePeople foolishly call this (Highway 10) Theater w/ stadium seating & state of the art sound- "Nostalgic".. Assuming because it doesn't have recliner seating (Try HEIGHTS Theater on Central over NE MPLS, That's Nostalgic). I find that funny.. Anyhow,
Sure this Brilliantly Located AMC (once Carmike Wynsong) Theater; off 35W & Highway 10 by the Mermaid -- Eight minutes {using backroads} from St. Anthony/ New Brighton NE MPLS -- isn't The Sprawling Packed MEGA PLEX that it once was during its 'Harry Potter saga' hey day. But it's still pretty nice. Cheap & conveyant. 2 Tickets too the way to long; perfect soundtrack having #SheisntmyCatwoman 'THE BATMAN' movie, were only $15 at 7pm (on A Wednesday).
I'll admit it's pretty sad on A Friday Night; when the actual Ticket Boothe is closed. An Only A third of the interiors lights are on, plus only 1 concessions stand out of 4 are open.. And the once epic video game parlour is also closed! SMH.. Plus the fact that the 4 or 5 person staff- won't open their GIANT (#5?) Middle Theater. Likely because they don't want to clean the colossal area afterwards. & Same goes for all those ropped off -- garbage can blocked, "out of order" bathrooms.. Which are anything but, I would know. Cause I went in an checked (Sorry, I really had to go). Nevertheless I'll be back. An Easy 3.5 / 4 ☆ cinema w/ solid sound (audio). If your in the area- Check It out! All & all it's normally A pleasant...
Read moreAMC Classic Mounds View is still an amazing theater. They never renovated and added the newer power recliners at most other AMC’s, but the chairs are still comfortable.
Their big screen is still huge. Huge. And the sound is too notch. Loud. There are other theaters in town I won’t go if it’s in the big theater as the mix at most of them is off and I always have to ask, “what’d they say?”
Not at AMC Classic mounds view. All theaters are loud enough to hear. Their big theater is plenty loud also.
I almost don’t want to post this, but because of not renovating and adding the recliners, AMC Classic Mounds View keep their prices low. Just simply great deals. New releases you can often see for $7 or less. Matinee’s are cheaper than that.
The Diet Coke is mixed correctly and their popcorn is delicious also. Their popcorn and soda still costs as much as anywhere else, but the movies themselves are much cheaper than elsewhere.
Whenever I’ve gone to this theater, it’s nearly empty. I haven’t done any Friday nights or Saturday nights, but when I’ve gone, weekdays, matinees, there’s barely anyone there. I hope they stay open. I love coming here.
Easy to get to. Large parking lot. Low ticket prices. Great screens and sound. What more could you want?
I’ll be...
