On Sunday October 12, 2025 we were at gamestop in mount airy nc at 1448 Edgewood drive mount airy nc 27030. It was after 11 am and they were not open we were standing outside the store waiting so my child could go in and spend the money they had been saving. The heavy set black haired girl with glasses finally comes to the door to open it. But instead of letting us in she blocks the door and tells us she will have us thrown out of the store. We asked her to repeat herself because we couldn't believe or understand why we were being denied entry. We had been outside the store waiting and had no conversation with this girl before she unlocked the door late. So we left and took our business elsewhere. But I called the corporate office and told him how she blocked the door and would not even let us in. We did nothing wrong but stand outside the store past time for them to be open and wait til they did. Corporate said I could make a complaint but noone would call me for more information even though I asked for someone to call. So apparently this store discriminates against customers that do nothing wrong but come before the heavy set girl with black hair and glasses decided to open. 11 am must be a guess of when they will open not the actual time they will. This girl was so rude she blocked the door and denied us entry is the their company policy?? Trust me nothing in this store is worth pushing our way in but I do hope everyone who reads this sees how the employees do whatever to whoever because they know nothing will happen to them. I called the actual store and asked to speak to the manager and was told he was not there or at their other store. I asked when he would be and was told there was no idea because they work whatever shift. How is this place still in business?? I can't believe not even the general manager bothers to call for more information about her or to apologize. Shows they don't care about the customers just the money they spend my advice to anyone reading this buy off Amazon at least they have decent customer service and show you respect. Shame on you gamestop and heavy set girl with black hair and glasses. People like me keep you employed with our business. I hope this causes people to rethink shopping there and they get no business. Now I remember the reason I haven't spent any money in this store in years and plan to never spend another dime in there again. Between the constant push to sell a useless power-up card that no longer has discounts or any other value, ripping people off offering pennies on the dollar for trade ins on brand new games, overpriced used games and the Walmart across the parking lot that actually has midnight releases, there's no point. And we won't even comment on the middle-aged, overweight, long haired, balding slob of a human who must think he's still in his 20's that waited on me. Read moreI don’t know the gentleman’s name but I had placed a store pick up this morning thinking they would be open until 10pm as the website says however when we arrived at a little after 7pm, they had the gate pulled but there was a gentleman in the store. My husband went to the door to see if there was a sign and the gentleman came to the door and said his manager and assistant manager both had walked out and he had been there since 8 this morning so the head person he called said he could close early. We asked if they would be open tomorrow because I had a pick up order and that gentleman went and got my order and brought it out to me and was still super nice, as tired as we could tell he was.
