First time eating at the Mt Airy Golden Corral. Day trip with my parents and we were hesitant at first because I'm picky when it comes to buffet style restaurants. Only one that I will eat at within 35 minutes of my house is the one in Burlington across from the Walmart on Huffman Mill Rd. It is top of the line in my opinion and the one in Mt. Airy would definitely be it's rival for me. The only thing that I can say I was disappointed about and only difference in the comparison of the two places is the sad fact that unlike the on in Burlington that always has fresh medium size bags of fluffy, sweet and stick to your fingers COTTON CANDY!; Mt. Airy didn't have this delicious treat that reminds you of being young😭 Food was delicious and buffet was well stocked with a wide variety of options for even the pickiest eater to fill up their belly and ready for a good nap 😴 Everything was clean and orderly. I can't comment on the bathroom surprisingly I didn't check it out. Bathroom cleanliness is something that can make or break a good restaurant experience per my thoughts. The staff were attentive but weren't as friendly as my Burlington Golden Family but that could be because they know our faces as it is not only a favorite of mine but a common place my whole family gets together at to enjoy a meal and chatting until we close it down. Look forward to being able to return again the next time I'm able to visit the area. Great job Mt. Airy Golden Corral 😁🤗 You earned my very...
Read moreThe overall restaurant is very clean and inviting. Waitress was very friendly, polite and prompt at clearing dirty plates from table and keeping drinks filled. The buffet line was always full of fresh, hot food. It was neat, clean. Never saw and spilled or slipped food. Kitchen staff continuously keeping it wiped up. Lots of good choices of food! The negatives are it's extremely expensive in my opinion, 5 people (me, wife, 2 older teenagers and 1 child) cost me over $75.00.... Wow!!! Why doesn't Golden Corral offer discounts or coupons? The pricing is why it's only a once or twice a year treat. Also, 8:30 closing is kinda early in my opinion. We weren't rushed out, but my work schedule doesn't allow me to get in there before 7:30, and closing at 8:30?, I think 9 or 10 would be more reasonable I know how crowded it is on Fridays and Saturdays, so no I won't go there then. If steak is offered every night, even if its 8:00pm, I expect a hot steak, not one off the cutting board that's sitting on the grill that appears turned off for the night. If they close their doors at 8:30, customers in there deserve the same level of service at 8:25, that they would get...
Read moreI HATE giving bad reviews. But.. I felt like I must be honest. Golden Corrals quality and purpose seems to have declined. They no longer give value to what you pay. Example: No longer make fresh cooked egg products. The breakfast meal is simply bad. Strange tasting sausage... burnt and low quality bacon. The French Toast was ok. Not many choices to choose from. Bland. Boring. Mostly canned fruit. Fresh fruit was green and not ready for consumption. If the GM can make changes he/she should be looking closer to what people are really thinking. Positive: I received a military discount. They used to say no except on the "one day" they celebrate "our" service. Not sure if it was the casher that took the lead or if GM decided to make this change. Recommend: Keep all food fresh. Can goods should be very limited. Keep that grill open for a variety of morning, afternoon, and nightly choices. Taste what you serve like a professional chief would demand. Add life and tell me you want me to come back by how well you prepare and serve my meal. $14.00 can buy much. What will you offer that makes me feel that $14.00...
