So, we came to visit Mount Airy for a couple days and was in search of a good place to eat. I had read the iffy at best reviews and it kept us from eating there on day one. On day two we decided to give it a try. I warned my family that we may be going into a bad situation but to be open minded and give it a try.

We were seated immediately as the place was not busy during what should be the dinner rush. We ordered fried pickles and the onion (can’t remember what they called it) as appetizers. They were both good and we were hopeful.

I ordered the Dead Eye Ribeye which is their biggest steak (18oz) and is priced at $29.99. I had fries and a salad. (Photos attached)

I ordered it medium and got it very close to rare. I was willing to be a trooper and eat it because I will not send steaks back to kitchen. I was barely able to cut it with a knife, it was very tough, had zero flavor, and was very watery.

Whomever made the steak simply can’t make steaks. I could not eat the fries because they were so salty and then they were saturated with the fluids coming out of the steak.

I ate two bites of the steak.

The rest of my family (four others) ate their food but all stated that it was food without flavor. My daughter had a hamburger that had zero flavor and her mashed potatoes were cold.

The worst part of all of this is our waitress never one time asked if my steak was okay. She saw I was not eating it and never asked if everything was okay.

I paid the full bill and my wife was furious and immediately called the manager. The manager said it was the steaks fault because she had received the exact same complaint from someone else about the same steak. I assure you it was not the meats fault. Whomever is making those steaks simply can’t.

I do want to add that the manager refunded me for my steak dinner. I appreciated that!

The place has a ton of potential but there is no way they will survive making food like that. Save yourself the trouble. Go somewhere else. We were passing through but we travel a great deal. I will not stop at this establishment again. The steak was brutally horrible. Concern for customers seems to be even worse.

Finally, there was a table that had 6-8 people sitting behind us. We noticed when we left that it appeared they had all ordered burgers. Some burgers had one bite out. Some half eaten but it was clear that like my daughters burger they were bad as well.

I love a good steak. Heck, I will eat an okay steak. If given the option to eat bologna or a steak from that...

I would give it a zero if at all possible but I wanted to review this place. We were just "thrown out" of this restaurant. The "general manager ", who never gave her name, said she was calling the police on me! We were never seated. Upon arriving the hostess put my name on her list and said it was probably a 20 minute wait. We sat on a bench beside the hostess station. After watching other people who came in after us be seated, I approached her to ask why we haven't been seated. I was not loud, rude, nor ever out of my Christian character towards her. She immediately became defensive saying she called it twice and I ignored her. She said people were seated by what's available which is a totally different reason than me "ignoring" her. I returned to sitting waiting to be called. Several employees gathered behind the bar near the kitchen and began discussing me because it was very evident when they all were looking at me. A gentleman was brought out to the hostess stand and again several employees stood there looking towards me so I approached the stand and asked to speak to the manager on duty. The young gentleman said he was so I introduced myself and offered my hand. He was hesitant. He asked what was wrong. As I was telling him the hostess interrupted. I asked her to please wait until I finished. The manager just kept saying that she was a minor. Another girl said that she would get the general manager. I agreed that she should. A lady then immediately approached me holding her phone, saying I needed to leave or she would call the police. I was totally floored and asked why. Again she said she was calling the police right then if I didn't leave. Another couple spoke up and said I did nothing wrong. The restaurant lost at least 3 waiting parties because they threatened to call the police. I am just flabbergasted over the entire incident. Never experienced anything like this before. I went and spent our $150 elsewhere on the 4th of July. If they are going to hire minors then their attudes need to be left home. The "management " also needs professional training. I can't say anything about the food because I never was given the opportunity to try it. A local couple followed us out saying they will never go back due to how I was treated. Dodge City needs to take lessons from Miss Kitty on how to treat customers....

My fiancee and I frequent this business regularly on our days off and the food is great. The service however is the reason why I felt compelled to write this review. It should be noted that my fiancee and I tip well above 20% when the service is comparable. We have had only had two different servers and the experiences from both are drastically different. However, this one server that we had this afternoon and once on another occasion has been not attentive, not personable, and almost intentionally disrespectful. Our first experience with her being our waitress she never came back to check on the table or to see how the food came out and getting the bill took painfully long. When you come to this establishment they give you rolls upon arrival. On this current visit today she never brought out rolls until we asked after our food already had showed up, and she didn't even apologize for not bringing them in the first place. (we only had asked so late into the service due to her never coming back to check in beforehand) Even after that the service felt like she was avoiding us and trying to busy herself with others tasks. This lack of service was felt beyond just our table, we had witnessed another table have to get up and find their waiter to get the check, and another table leave without paying. We didn't catch the waitress's name but she was skinny with clear framed glasses and brownish hair. the other waitress we have had is drastically different In her ability to perform here job. She is attentive, kind, and always brings rolls at the beginning of the service. She is also intentionally nice rather than deliberately forgetful. If you are lucky enough to get this server than you will likely have a good experience all around. On the other hand if you get the other server you will have a terrible experience that will certainly grind your gears and make you feel as if you should never come back. We didn't catch the other waitress's name either, (she's taller with an undercut) but she is a great role model for the other servers and hope that that effort does not go unnoticed when her coworkers offer such a...

While on vacation, my friend wanted to visit a steakhouse. This place was recommended by Gypsy Moon. Overall, it was a great place. I didn't give 5 stars for the atmosphere ONLY because we had to walk past the bar to get to the dining area and the restrooms were by the bar. That's merely my personal taste because I don't drink. It would've been nicer, for non-drinkers, if you could go to the dining area without having to go by the bar. The prices were about average for a steakhouse; About $20 - $25 per person. Our waitress was amazing! She recommended dishes and answered our questions. She was friendly and helpful and spent time patiently waiting on us, even though they were super busy. She was probably the best part of this experience. I didn't give 5 stars for food, even though it was pretty good and large portion sizes, because my steak was supposed to have been butterflied, which it wasn't, and I asked for extra well done and it came out pink in the middle. I did end up sending it back, even though I cringe about doing that because I've heard horror stories about that kind of stuff, and when my steak came back out, it was perfect, but they forgot to bring my fries out with it. Not a big deal, with such an amazing waitress, she had my fries brought back out within minutes and the rest of the meal went without any further problems. I will note that my steak was tough, but it takes a very rare chef to make a well done steak and keep it tender, so I didn't mind too much there, especially having been cooked a second time. I paid a small upcharge for a salad and expected a side salad, like most restaurants give, but got a huge bowl instead, which could've been a meal on its own. Overall, it was a decent experience here, with the best part of it being the wait staff. I would recommend this place.

I recently visited Dodge City Steakhouse with a group of six, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were given only four menus for the six of us. We asked for a drink menu, but it never arrived. We ordered two fried onions, which were brought to the table without the special sauce as they had run out. Instead, they provided extra ranch dressing. When our entrees finally arrived, the filet was overcooked (well done instead of medium), the corn on the cob was rubbery, and the sweet potato looked like something out of a holiday disaster movie. The chicken salad came with wilted iceberg lettuce and was missing the egg. Additionally, the appetizer plates remained stacked on our table, and our drinks sat empty until we had to ask for refills. The staff seemed inexperienced and untrained, as if they had only been in food service for a week. They were nice and tried hard, but it was clear there was no qualified manager providing direction or overseeing the operation. To top it off, our waitress was being shadowed by a new hire, making the experience feel even more chaotic. It felt like the restaurant was using our visit as a training exercise on how not to do things, and we were the unfortunate subjects. Overall, the lack of organization, poor food quality, and subpar service made for a regrettable dining experience. I hope management takes steps to improve the training and oversight of their staff to prevent future diners from having a similar experience.
