I hate leaving negative reviews but want to warn others that expect this to be a Hampton since we tend to be loyal to the brand when traveling. First, I was not greeted as an honor member or offered water - no big deal, it was 10:00 pm and we were tired anyway. The hallway and room smelled like air freshener so bad, we would have left if it wasn't so late. People said it was "clean" in other reviews? Perhaps the strong air freshener made them think that? The carpets were so dirty, I kept shoes on. The cleaning people do a good job on the surface - it's the long term dirt and odor. Photos to try and capture this. We were in room 149 beside a storage room. There was something in that room that turned off and on all night long. It sounded like a chain saw in the wall and kept us awake. Should be a discount room! Absolutely ridiculous for the price paid to be there. When I mentioned the noise from the next door room, Denise at the front desk rolled her eyes and didn't respond to me. All she said in response was "Your receipt will be in your email." I have never been treated so dismissively in my life from a business. Her attitude and behavior were downright shocking. Terrible response to a polite observation from an honors member trying to offer insight into their stay. Downright rude.

I would love to give a better review but my brother in law called to book the room to make SURE we got a handicap bathroom for our mom because she is in a wheel chair. If you go on their web site they have pictures of different bathrooms. The room he booked had a king size bed and a pull out sofa. My mom could not get in the tub and we didn't have a pullout sofa, we had a wing back chair. My sister called the front desk and said that was the room we booked. I'm glad I decided to take my air mattress but for the price we paid, I believe they should have tried to accommodate us better. The room was considered handicap because it had a higher toilet and there was a handle in the tub, a lower bar in the closet and 2 peep holes in the door. If my mother would have been any bigger, she wouldn't have been able to get all the way in the room between the table and the wall. Also, there wasn't even an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Easy access and very personable and efficient staff. Ray V made our check-in experience quick, easy and enjoyable. He answered all of my questions and provided a convenient list of establishments to visit that tourists and locals enjoy. He provided a map of the downtown Mt Airy area and information about the Mayberry attractions. The hospitality staff provided a varied selection of hot breakfast items including egg white frittata, turkey sausage, hot oatmeal, make your own waffles (with BOTH sugar free 😋 and regular syrup), along with many other breakfast staples and 24/7 coffee tea and hot chocolate. Personally I was happy they had receptacles for plastic, glass and aluminum recycling! Kudos for an establishment promoting recycling.

We were able to stay here for free using our travel points. Upon arrival we received an email so we could pick which room we would like and to get an electronic key to help avoid interactions due to COVID-19. However, after selecting that we would like the electronic key, we still had to go by the front desk to get it activate, which kinda defeated the purpose.

Upon arrival to our room, it was sealed shut with a sticker, half on door, half on door frame, to show that no one had been in the room since it had been cleaned. That was a nice feeling. Walking in the room was very nice, up to date decor and a nice size bathroom. The TV console needs to have something added to the doors as they are really loud when they close. Would be nice to have the door off the cabinet where the refrigerator is or have it so it slides back into the cabinet so you don't have to open 2 doors just to get a drink out.

We did have a little visitor around 3am Saturday morning that found an open bag of Combos left on the dresser. I called front desk, but she wasn't able to help, we had to wait for maintenance to come in that morning and they would have to go get a trap for us. We were offered to change rooms but we opted not too. We were on the ground floor and it was raining out, so I can't blame they little fella! ;)

Great location to food in all directions, Papa John's is in the parking lot, with Biscuitville and Chic-fil-a within walking distance. Highly recommend the funnel cake truck across the road!!

We had a wet but great weekend and have decided to definitely come back to this area again in better weather and we would definitely stay at the hotel...

Stayed there for 2 nights the 1 week of July - I've stayed at many Hampton Inns before and really liked them but I have to say this one was the absoluteworst one I've ever been in - we prepaid for 2 nights - had to be moved to a different room as our 1st room was dirty , didn't even have pillows on the bed yet, went to open the curtains and found what looked like black mold , called front desk and they moved us to the room next door and said that we'd have to wait until the next day for the manager and then assured us we would get a full refund , we had plans early next day so manager was to call us - we somehow missed the call that afternoon and no manager to talk to again - we waited as long as we could the following day to talk to manager before we had to leave - was then told we could have refund for the one night not the 2 as we could of moved to another hotel - our rooms had been prepaid and hadn't budgeted extra money for that plus had been told by employee that we were getting a full refund - the 2nd room was better but still not up to par - took a shower put on socks while in the room only and then discover the bottoms were filthy because of the carpet - also the hallway carpet leading to the rooms had stains and was dirty - I even told the manager that it gave the hotel a really bad 1st impression to see the hallway carpet like that before you even get to the room - employee gave the excuse it was really hard for them to keep it clean with all the traffic- poor excuse and poor 1st impression- I did end up getting a refund in the mail for the 1st night but not the full refund like I had been told at 1st - I will definitely not be...

My husband and I were on a 6 day vacation. We stayed our first night a Hampton Inn And he was given a military discount and was asked to join the Hampton Inn member club. The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean. Customer service was great. We decided to become part of the Hampton Inn family. The next 5 nights we stayed at Hampton inns. During our vacation and on our last night we drove 15 miles out of the way to be loyal to our hotel a family and also because the price online Was about fifty five dollars cheaper than what we had been payinging but on arrival we were told that the price on the internet was not correct and it had been that way for about 3 months. There was no apology and when we asked about a member discount we were told that it was the member discount price! They We drove 15 miles out of our way to stay loyal customers but it is a matter of principle, and I'm sorry a five dollar discount and Any kind of Hospitiful act would of been appreciated. I find myself writing this review while a dog is barking in the room next door realizing I have never minded paying more for quality customer service and am a loyal customer but tonight is our last night at Hampton Inn. On our 3rd night of vacation I was burned by scalding water at coffee center in hotel near the Ark encounter and everyone was so nice it melted the top of my new tennis shoes. I was asked to fill out an accident report but after applying burn cream staff gave me it was better by morning (my foot) not shoes, but I felt no need to fill out anything after all we are family right? Good bye...
