Henn Theater — Attraction in Murphy

I've been over 20 times since they restored it and wow! They did such an awesome job with everything, state of the art digital projector & sound, the most comfortable seating, plus you can't ask for better service. All the employees are swift and very polite. During one visit I grabbed a drink and a pretzel and rushed to my seat not realizing I forgot a straw, so a passing employee overheard me mention my forgetfulness and insisted I stay put while rushed to the lobby and grabbed me a straw...now that's customer care and service! It may seem like no big deal to some but that young man's simple act of kindess and commitment to making sure people are taken car of won't be taken for granted by me. I'm gonna tell everyone I know about this theater. You won't be disappointed!

Went last night to see Paul, Disciple of Christ. This theater does everything possible wrong. First, light control was so bad it ruined whatever contrast the projector had and rendered blacks in a bright shade of gray. Since this movie has a lot of dark scenes, they were ruined completely. Second, the alignment of the projector image to the screen was terrible! Over scanning the top by about a foot, and not hitting the screen at that bottom left by a couple of inches. Third, the velvet (or whatever it was) was haphazardly installed and interfered with the picture at the top. Fourth, there were no aisles, and it appeared there was no way to safely exit the theater in an emergency. And finally, the sound was also bad. I will never return to this “theater” again. IMO it...

This theater is one of two in North Carolina that survived the DEPRESSION ERA! It was a BIRTHDAY OUTTING for me. You might want to go 1 hr earlier because when we got there the movie was listed as starting @4pm online. However, after driving from Ga we got there @3:15pm & saw folks going inside...thank goodness we checked & their 4pm movie was starting @3pm. The theater is small & Quant until you go inside the theater seating area where there are highback comfortable seating....so highback seating, that my friend couldn't find me after going for refreshments...soo remember your spot somehow, if you want to find...
