Tonight was probably our 3rd or 4th time eating here. Usually it's decent. I don't feel like it's ever been worth the cost but we've given it several tries hoping it would get better. We walked in tonight around 6:15. The restaurant was "busy" but not packed. We were seated immediately and given menus by a friendly hostess. It took probably 8-10 minutes for a server to come take our drink order, might not have been quite that long, but the server must have thought we had been there long enough to know what we wanted to eat because she asked for our full order her 1st visit to the table. We ordered 2 waters and steak nacho appetizer and told her we'd like to get our nachos before placing entrée order. She returned about 5 minutes later with drinks and asked a 2nd time for our meal order so we went ahead with that. By the time the appetizer arrived we had been at the restaurant roughly 40 minutes. As she placed the nachos on the table she said "I'll be right back with some water" However when she came back, she had our meal, including salads that didn't get brought out ahead of the meal so it didn't get eaten as we had barely got started on the nachos. Again she stated that she was going to get refills on our water. I didn't get our servers name but I'm not sure it would have mattered. I think there was 4 servers on the floor tonight but I was unable to catch any of them within earshot without making a scene. So by the time I was nearly finished with my prime rib, I made the decision to go find a water pitcher to refill our own glasses. I was met at the drink station by the same hostess who seated us. She apologized that I was having to get our own refill and asked did we need anything else. I told her we had also placed a to-go order for our daughter but was unsure if it had actually been put in yet because our server hadn't been back to the table since delivering our meal. The server did come back to the table shortly after I had sat back down with our drinks and said our to-go should be ready in about 10 minutes or so. She did not apologize for missing the drinks and didn't question why the salads and ½ the sides hadn't been touched. (Steak fries seemed to have been leftover from lunch). As she cleared all the plates from the table. The hostess returned and offered a free dessert for our wait, we declined due to our daughter waiting for her supper and we didn't want to delay any longer. The server returned with our check which was $136.00 for 3 steak dinners and an app. The prime rib I was served was barely warm and even the grease in the aujus had started to solidify around the edges of the cup. I didn't even bother checking the temp of that. Again I don't feel like this was strictly the servers fault, I never seen anyone who acted like a manager. The hostess was the most qualified person I saw on the floor tonight even though she was probably under 20yrs old. Very disappointed in the service and food and it's unfortunate that such a beautiful building couldn't be a...
Read moreTL;DR Perfect service, tasty food and great value.
I hesitated going here for a while as the atmosphere just didn't have that top steakhouse vibe when I peeked in.
Big mistake.
Arrived early evening, well before 6. We had our pick of any seat and the bar was empty. The bar would remain that way, but the rest of the place hit 80%+ full not long after we arrived and stayed that way until we left around 6:30.
Service was outstanding from start to finish. The waitress checked on us frequently without interfering, food was delivered promptly, clearing happened seamlessly, anything that wasn't there and desired was a request away and always delivered immediately. Food was served as quickly while allowing us to pace as desired with all food at desirable temperatures. Impeccable service, even after the dinner crowd arrived.
Had an 8 oz. filet (delicious, cooked as ordered, thick, tender - distinctive flavor - perhaps due to small farm sourcing, tastes may very but I loved it), fried broccoli (my least fav, but that's probably because I ate every bite of everything else and veggies are last on my list), steak fries (large, meaty, crispy outside, cooked perfectly awesome as were the normal sized sweet potato fries), pecan crusted trout (huge portion - crispy thin crust of crushed pecans on top of perfectly cooked trout - no fishy taste or smell at all - superb!) a Bloody Mary (their own concoction with a powdered rim and lime wedge - you don't eat this one you drink it - more fresh tomato taste than any mix I've had, very nice) a specialty drink my wife loved but a sip was plenty for me... and a small (so it seemed at first) wedge of a very rich, thick, creamy-like-brie cheesecake that melted in your mouth with a few dollaps of the most wonderful whipped cream I've had in a long time. When they set it down I was disappointed. After I ate it I was in awe. And stuffed. After a few bites, I wanted to take half home but I couldn't stop eating it...
If you're looking for that power-date steakhouse experience, make the drive to the Copper Door. Expect to pay for it.
Legends is exactly the steakhouse Murphy should have exactly where it should be. I hope it never changes.
The service at Legends was outstanding as was the food and drink. The prices allow a quick return to try more of the menu.
I'll show up early, beat the crowd. Again.
I'll be back.
July, 2023 Return visit. Different night, different server, ordered different food. Same result. This place is solidly on my Favorites list. Hard to beat at this...
Read moreSo I used to love this place and specifically loved the prime rib. Have been numerous times. Staff was always placement and routinely left with a bill over $200 (totally worth it) including a tip of at least $50, great experiences. Wrote nice messages on receipts of how awesome it was. It had been a month or so since coming in because it is hard some times to get over but had been planning the trip for a month to go eat. The prime rib was horrible, never seen so much gristle, the marbling lacked any flavor, I didnt even eat but a quater of it. It didn't taste seasoned at all very bland. My wife got chicken pasta and there was literally two small pieces of chicken as those no one even looked at it before it left the kitchen. I would have complained but after looking at the faces of the employees just said "why bother". Waitress clearly saw I didnt eat it nor did I ask for a box for it. I paid and I left. The energy level sucked. At first, they were going sit me at a two seater and I asked if we could have a booth and hostess acted like I asked for her arm, there were 6 open booths and I go early to avoid crowds, arrive at 4. The waitress was a suck fest as well. We order two appetizers and she brought almost everything out at the same time we hadnt got but a quater of the way through the spinach dip and mushrooms when boom main course. I had to grab her for refills. Almost no one was smiling. They look like they were truly there to just get a paycheck and go home. This was the weirdest visit I have had there. That meal was not worth $100. Very disappointed. Not sure what happened, very confusing. It was very truly saddening because I loved saving up to go there, so it broke my heart. Amended Updated. I have changed my rating from 1 to 5 stars. I was really impressed with Selina Jones. She found me on afacebook and addressed everything so I will be going back. She really cares about her restaurant and...
