Vision Source Mustang — Attraction in Mustang

I hate to leave bad reviews and this is my only one in years, but......... Multiple complaints with my recent office visits (plural), a total of at least 8 in the last 3 months. The need to have gone to the office 4 separate times because the lab continually messed up a single pair of glasses, not understanding the concept of yellow vs amber (there is a difference in tinting). Having to return and billed for separate office visits due to glaucoma testing ("I want to watch your eye pressures. Come back in a month", bang $50 office visit). The unscrupulous practice of charging you for every machine they put to your eyes when you go in for your "annual eye exam" ("oh that's the.....it's not covered with your annual exam". Bang '$40). They do not tell you up front the additional exams that are billed to you and/or your health insurance company that are not billed to your vision insurance either. They only tell you when they give you the bill with your glasses and you have to pay it to be able to obtain your glasses. Pay an additional $50 office visit, another "specialized medical procedure (fancy machine)" is done, and you are on the hook for an additional $47 not covered by insurance. I have been with Mustang Vision Source for about 10 years, just had 6 pairs of glasses made for specialty purposes at a cost of over $1100 (even supplied my own frames to keep the cost down, would have been closer to$2000), and now surprise billing has left such a foul taste that I am looking for another eye care professional. BE WEARY OF ANY MACHINE THEY PUT TO YOUR EYES THAT DO NOT INVOLVE THE STANDARD EYE CHARTS, AS IT MAY COST YOU ADDITIONAL MONEY. THEY DO NOT DISCLOSE THE ADDITIONAL COSTS. PS: They list frames at several hundred dollars that can be obtained elsewhere for a significantly less cost. I liked the people, but not the bill padding and frame padding to line their pockets. I have been using Vision Source in Mustang for a few years now. I have one eye that does great as far as correction with glasses, and I have one that does not. The first year it took 2 re-checks, and 2 lense changes to get it close. The next year about the same. Right eye no change, left eye a couple more re-checks. Dr Dobson at that time said I was one of a few of his patients that has this issue. This made me feel a little better that I wasn't his only problem patient. He said there was a bit of a cataract coming up that may be causing it. This year same thing, only my left eye went from a positive number, to a negative one. My left eye had become a little blurry and the new prescription helped. It's been a few months and it has gotten a little worse so I went back in. It had changed again, and Dr Dobson did a scan to see the health of my left eye. Cataract has gotten worse, and it will need to be corrected soon, but he did give me a new prescription to help for now. He has been very patient and understanding as I feel I'm being a pain having to keep coming in. His staff is always great, and they follow covid protocols. AMAZING Doctor, Staff, & Service!

I'm more fortunate than most due to I have not had any vision issues in 45 years. :) However, right around my 45th birthday I started having problems with reading small print. I went to our family eye doctor who other family members had used for over 15 years. After a 15 minute visit I was on my way and in two weeks I had new glasses. However, every time I put them on I got a headache and felt like I was going to puke so I called the office, multiple times and was told it just takes time to get used to them, so I never used them.

Here I am 3 years later and still having the same issues so I setup an appointment with Vison Source in Mustang. They are much closer to my home and I was in awe with how thorough they were as well as how nice everyone was. My initial appointment was actually about 45 minutes but again they were very thorough. I got a new pair of glasses about two weeks later and I am VERY VERY VERY HAPPY!!! I can see everything from writing on prescription bottles to text messages. :) No more taking pictures with my cell phone and then zooming in.

Ultimately, I would HIGHLY recommend Vision Source for they are truly caring and...
