The Lokal Mustang — Restaurant in Mustang

We have been to this location two times. We enjoy the food at The Lokal in Yukon and had a few issues the last few times there and decided to drive on in to Mustang. The first experience was great, food and service. This week we went on a day through the week around 5:00 pm, not busy at all. My boyfriend and I both ordered the chicken fried steak, the food did not come out together his came first and a few minutes later his daughter’s and I food came out. His chicken fry was burnt and could tell before he even cut into it, the manager did take it back and make a new one and boyfriend watches us eat as he waited for his food,, once he did get the food it was good. I thought the manager would take a few dollars off the order or at least something as most restaurants would do. The service was not great this time either, we had to wait for refilled drinks and my boyfriend always orders two beers his second beer set on the bar for awhile before being brought out to him and as I said the place was not busy. We do love the food and now we have the decision which location will we return to and try since we have had issues with both Yukon and...

The waitress and the atmosphere was great...they deseve 5 stars!! However, the food is the reason for the 2 stars. Each person who dines out has certain things they cannot have like gluten or choose not to eat for personal reasons. Our server was good and tried her best to make sure we didn't get something we couldn't have. The appetizer we ordered had bacon in it, although she had asked them to make without bacon. The cooks failed her, since it was mixed in the dip. No big deal, it is what it is. Our meal came shortly after, the food was meh. While eating the mashed potatoes, we found plastic in them. Our server notified the manager, who came over to the table. We told her about finding the plastic and she offered to get us more mashed potatoes. I don't know about her, but once I find something in my food, I don't want to try again with a new serving. She just looked at us and walked away when we declined replacement of the mashed potatoes and didn't bother to say I'm sorry that this happened or I'll talk to the kitchen about this. The manager needs to be taught some basic customer service...

A good friend recommended this venue after realizing I'd be in town for a military retirement seminar, and I am glad that I gave it a shot..

There were ample selections of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, brunch, and main dish items on the menu, but the grilled pork chops caught my eye..

I ordered the single bone-in pork chop entrée with mac & cheese and pinto beans for sides.. I was not disappointed..

The pinto beans were plenty flavorful, and the mac & cheese was pretty good, but a bit dry.. What the mac & cheese lacked in moisture was made up for and then some with the pork chop..

I ordered the chop with the Blueberry Bourbon BBQ sauce on the side.. The chop was a nice, thick cut and was served perfectly done, juicy, and well-seasoned.. The house BBQ sauce went very well with the pork chop, but the chop was delicious on its own..

All in all, this visit makes me want to return and sample other menu offerings in the very near future.. The atmosphere, open dining area, and full bar also add nice touches for a very pleasant dining...
