This studio was a major disappointment, although the staff is friendly and welcoming it all feels very fake, forced and not very yogic. The energy was cold and uninviting. This studio felt like the fast food restaurant of yoga studios and I did on more than one occasion hear it referred to as the McDonald's of the yoga world. The studio owner is a bully not only to her staff but also to her clients. I once witnessed her placing her mat over the top of a clients mat because that was "her space" this happened to be a new client and it made her very uncomfortable. When the yoga instructor approached her about it the owner verbally belittled the instructor in front of the entire studio and then added, this is my studio I will practice where I want I pay the bills so she can move. How very disheartening, this incident ruined the flow of good energy in the studio and made for a very uncomfortable and hostile environment to practice in. On several occasions I witnessed the owner belittle her employees, who I came to find out aren't really employees at all they are subcontractors, in front of other instructors and clients. Of all of the yoga studios and resorts that I have been to this was by far the worst and I would not stop foot back in this studio again, even if the class was free. I definitely feel bad for the instructors and staff who have to deal with this type of hostile and demeaning work environment day in and day out. This studio does not know the true meaning of yoga and the owner doesn't even know the pillars and if she does, she does not practice them. This is not a place of healing or good Spritual growth, it's nothing more than a business with generic yoga classes. Good luck to those who actually continue to pay to subject themselves to this sort of emotional and...
Read moreYoga in Common is my favorite place in Myrtle Beach. No matter what type of day I’ve been having, I step through door and soothing scents plus crafts and artwork of local artisans surround me. I feel my entire body relax. Either Linda, the owner, or staff greet me by name. I feel welcomed! There are two well-equipped studios with bamboo floors and lots of props. The yoga instructors are very well trained and carefully observe each student seeing how your body can realistically move-and give you opportunities to push yourself in a healthy, constructive way. They are approachable, open to questions and have a wonderful spirit in each class to help all participants gain the most out each practice. Yoga In Common offers a wide variety of classes and styles for all levels. I highly recommend Yoga in Common–whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for...
Read moreAlex gave me my first ever Reiki healing session. I went into it with the attitude to "believe" in nothing but be "open" to anything.
Without going into background details I'll just say I had been in deep mental anguish brought on by an existential crisis ..... of sorts.
I can't say what your experience will be like but mine is life changing already!!
The energy and effort put forth in this type of healing is just amazing! It is worth much more than money can buy. Our life force is who we truly ARE and for a Reiki Master to use theirs to guide you back to center is a priceless gift!
I am overwhelmed with Gratitude now instead of confusion or crisis.
There are Blessings walking among us everyday and Alex at Yoga In Common is one of them. Many Blessings to you and THANK YOU for helping me find my...
