I went to Guitar Center Nashua New Hampshire on Thursday May 15th in the afternoon to return a guitar that I had purchased that was listed as a fender Big Apple Strat when in fact it was not a fender Big Apple strat. The reason for the return was that I wanted a Big Apple Strat which was somewhat rare and this was not the proper guitar upon trying to return it two counter people started questioning me in detail as to didn't I play the guitar didn't I realize it wasn't the right guitar and continually ridiculing and making me feel very uncomfortable and at that point I told them to just return the guitar. Both of the employees were very unprofessional and continued with the line of questioning and ridicule. Once the return was processed at a very slow rate I left the store only to realize both of these employees had followed me out of the store and continued with their ridicule and actions. One of them had gone so far as to tell me to take my business elsewhere and don't come back as he didn't like it when I told him I wasn't the one that incorrectly listed the guitar, Guitar Center did so it's not my problem and I just want to return it. But I was followed out of the store by two employees which to me is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and both of these employees should be disciplined and held accountable for their actions. Following a customer out of the store when there were two of them to me was a very threatening situation as I had no idea what both of them were coming out for as I was heading to my vehicle. I have tried to contact corporate only to get no response which is no surprise and no one seems to care. I do not recommend anyone doing business with a store that acts in this manner or allows their employees to act in this manner. Well one employee was telling me that I needed to take my business elsewhere and not to return the second employee was preaching to me about how I need to find God and God will save me and God will help me. I dropped off 2 guitars for signature setup, spoke with Pete for an hour and a half, cool guy. I let him know I was a newbie and know nothing about guitars, which he noticed with ease anyways. I was given a vague description of the service, but was told it was what I was looking for.
A few days later, sooner than expected, Pete called to let me know my guitars were ready for pickup. When I inquired about the price and service, I received this information:
I was being charged for a platinum setup for each PLUS STRINGS which should be included (total was told $85/ea) -My guitars were buffed with a blue bar (did not ask for that) The price was greater than expected (Drop-off receipt said signature setup $50/ea) because he “spent more time” on them and said that one the battery was corroded on one and it was more $$$ to fix that, which it is not. Electronics check and cleaning is included in the signature setup.
When I picked the guitars up shortly later, after disputing on the phone, I was charged a for the normal $50 fee for each signature setup, AND $11 for strings. The signature setup includes cleaning and polishing. When I got home, I could chip crud off the surface of each part of these two guitars. They were very dusty when dropped off but it seems all that was done was a quick wipe-down.
Overall this was a very sad experience.Hopefully Pete will no longer have the opportunity to seek advantage of someone ignorant to his culture. I have been treated...
Read moreHate to be that guy, just because I'm a beginner guitar player does not make me a novice when it comes to customer satisfaction. Decided to bring my acoustic guitar for a checkup /service. Heard good things about these guys. And who don't love that shiny guitar after they fluff and buff that master piece..... With this being said. I drop off to have there 22 point service. Minus the steps for a electric guitar. And am very disappointed..... Had 2 people call about the guitar and both had different things to say about it. I was told the guitar was all cleaned and ready to go, last step being what strings would I like. Next call was it looks good but there is some damage to the fret board and would I like them to repair it. They can do a half fret board job for" X" amount and so on. I declined and was told the guitar was all set......... I went to the store and was told they were trying to find the guitar. Then was told no work has been done to the guitar...so we ask for it back and it takes another 25 min to get it.... Sales man says. We changed the strings and tunned it up for ya. Have a great day.. Odd part. I put new strings on it the week before bringing it in...and this was talked about in first phone conversation...and The new strings were from family dollar lol... Bottom line end of rant. Don't lie cheat or be a pos to anyone regardless. Will not ever go back. Or recommend to anyone. Play on my friends! Music is...
