Upon walking in the store it was a little overwhelming being almost immediately approached by multiple people who work there asking lots of questions. I’ve never been in an Ulta store before so I had no idea what I was looking for or where to find anything. The staff kept looking at me as I made my way around the store in a state of confusion. It made me uncomfortable and I was doing nothing wrong. I was only trying to enjoy shopping in a new store. The layout of the store was confusing. The makeup sections where split up into two sections and had lots of missing products and smears all over the cases with little or no samples out. There were various products in places that didn’t make sense in my opinion which made it even more complicated to find anything. Upon reaching the register the girl checking me out almost forced me to give out my email, address, and telephone number which was really annoying. She wasn’t super upbeat or friendly either. I liked the options for products in the store especially the cruelty free, natural, vegan, and cbd products. They carried a wide variety of good high quality products. I like this beauty supply store far more than a Sephora. Definitely going to shop here again. I hope next time they won’t approach me so aggressively and swarm me at...
Read moreI usually shop at the newington or Rochester location and every one is typically so friendly and helpful. I went here a few times in the last few months because I was at the mall nearby, every time it’s the same thing. First of the trash barrels were over flowing with garbage and there were multiple associates just standing around, not offering help and not tending to the hygiene of the store, the displays are gross, and usually so overstocked I can’t grab what I need without having to move things or balance things in fear it’s all gonna fall. Secondly there’s a lady who I assume is the manager, colorful hair, older, she is always loudly yelling at someone or about something. I’ve heard her yelling at workers, one of the only people that actually HELPED me, a very nice brand rep that was in the store that day. I’ve heard her complaining about workers TO OTHER WORKERS. all while not addressing customer needs, like the cleanliness of the store, assisting with shopping, or the huge line. I understand now why the associates just stand in place, probably afraid to move for fear this lady will scream at them, what a toxic work environment. Like I said I go here when I go to the mall, as where I live the mall is lacking but I will stick to the rochester and...
Read moreFirst associates were friendly on the floor. As I went to check out I opted to not be apart of the rewards program and just take a paper receipt. I was told “that’s not how it works” by the employee next to the cashier checking me out. Very rude on both cashiers parts.
I came back shortly after as the gifts I got were something my wife already had and didn’t need. The associate on the floor was courteous. The manager on the other hand, an older blonde woman, was extremely rude, she had a dirty look on her face and said “you good?” As I approached some fixtures with product I was looking to exchange for
As I approached the cashier who rudely interrupted my first business transaction she wasn’t involved in, she said “so now you want to make that return huh?”, which was in regards to the threat of not allowing a return without a rewards card. She then asked for an ID like it was something that I could not provide presumptively for some reason.
I won’t be shopping here again. I’m not sure what kind of business treats their clientele with hostility and utter disdain for personal choice. Sorry for the employees who have to deal with somebody who is very unhappy with their position...
