Capital City Computers and TV Repair — Attraction in Nashville-Davidson

I brought my HP Envy laptop in for problems after I dropped it. The staff was nice and took my complaint, a few days later the owner calls to say the device is beyond repair and I probably need to buy a new one. Okay, there wasn't even a charge for the service, so that SEEMED fair. I type this review a year later on that same "dead" laptop. At the time, I was encouraged to buy one of the many remanufactured macs (this review does not reflect thier service on macs- which may be great, but macs are not) throughout the store. Just before I picked up my device, the owner let me know that he "Never read the ticket," meaning he didn't even read my complaint. He said that he just assumed a motherboard problem and sent it to a "motherboard shop." So with never even knowing why I brought the thing in, they send it out for service, find no way to fix it , and declare it dead. It was not dead when I brought it in, but now it was. When I pick it up, I take the time to get out the little screwdrivers from my toolbox and take a look inside. Almost every connection was disconnected, it was like a tornado went off in my computer. Of course I tried a hail mary and swapped the hard drive for a solid state and now I type away on the computer that works better than ever. PCs are not the forte of this business. They have a mural tribute to Apple so I guess that it makes sense that they push that so hard. Still, I felt they ignored my problems, lied about their qualifications with PCs, sent the unit to some place for unnecessary "repairs" on the non-broken motherboard, and gave me back the unit in an inoperable state. Actual repairs were made for free...

I have used Capital City twice in the last month. Both times I was very happy. They repaired a cracked Ipad screen fast and cheaper than the other spots in town. I don't know about you but when I can't get same day service on something like that I look elsewhere. That's why another place lost my business to Capital City that day. Then I took 2 laptops to them a couple weeks later. They fixed my old laptop that others had said it would be just too expensive too fix for $100. I loved the advice they gave me: "fix it! If you don't want to use it, these things are going for $150 on Craigslist still. You could sell it and make $50." That's going above and beyond. The other one had to have some major work done on it. They were very patient with me deciding whether I wanted to fix it or not. They left it opened up and waiting for me to make up my mind. A week later when I came to pick it up, there was a small misunderstanding on what was being replaced/what the cost would be. Zach, the owner, was very concerned regarding the misunderstanding and went above and beyond to be sure I was satisfied. That is customer service!!!! I have a MacBook Pro laptop that I bought brand new and I do a lot of editing for my computer is the source for my business. One night I could not find my computer and found out someone had stolen it. I filed a police report and a week later or almost two weeks later we captured it. My screen was cracked, the back of the computer looked as if someone ran their car over it. I was so hurt because I had client images and projects I was currently working on. Someone told me about Zach. I called him for a quote and he asked me to bring my computer the same day. I brought it to him and a day later he told me what all needed to be fixed. When I tell you all that my computer looks and runs as if I just unboxed it, it’s so unreal!!! Smacking brand new and my Touch Bar works as well. I was so excited because I cried for days thinking I have to spend 4000$ on another computer. He charged me an affordable amount and was so kind and staying in touch through the process. Zach and his company will be my go to from now on… Apple who??!!! Oh yeah Apple care+ doesn’t take of stolen lost or stolen so I had to add Asurion insurance.
