Fannie Mae Dees Park, often referred to as “Dragon Park,” is a true gem in Nashville. This vibrant, family-friendly park is perfect for all ages and offers something for everyone. The centerpiece is the iconic mosaic dragon sculpture, which is both whimsical and breathtaking. Kids love climbing and exploring its colorful scales, and it’s a wonderful spot for photos.
The park features a well-maintained playground with swings, slides, and climbing structures that keep children entertained for hours. There’s also plenty of open green space for picnics, frisbee, or just relaxing under the shade of the trees.
What sets Fannie Mae Dees Park apart is its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. The park is clean, safe, and often buzzing with friendly families, dog walkers, and community events. It’s a peaceful oasis right in the city, perfect for a weekend outing or a quick escape into nature.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting Nashville, Fannie Mae Dees Park is a must-see spot that highlights the creativity and charm of the area. Highly...
Read moreWhen I was a kid I went there with my parents and helped on a day where they were tiling the dragon. I don't remember what little piece I was working on, my memories from then are the memories of a 5 year old, or maybe an 8 year old. Kid memories of helping place a couple of the tiles and a sense of accomplishment that I had created something on the dragon.

The fort bushes I remember as a kid are gone... looking back now I can't imagine they did anything but lose kids. The place is a great place to let your kid run, have a wedding event in the picnic areas (done that,) and otherwise enjoy the place.
As of 2024 there's a new playground area and my kids enjoy it. In August they were still...

Many of the playground parts were broken and everything was faded and worn. I found it so difficult to find a place to park. I must be spoiled by the quality of parks in Wilson and Sumner Counties. We were in Nashville to go to Trader Joe’s and thought we would check out the park since we had heard so many good things. Unfortunately, my one visit will be my last.
I would love to see the city clean up and renovate this park. Nashville just has so few spaces for children and families. All of that Tourist money that flows in from Broadway should really be used to improve Nashville for the many families that live here and are...
