Star rating changed due to response from winery. I do not appreciate when a winery responds and unprofessionally tries to put down other winners. All wineries win awards. Country wine as well as regular wine add back sugar to make wine sweet, unless you pull the wine before it's done, then chemicals are added to create that flavor you love. Country wine is fermented to a dry wine from anything you are making it from, when it's done you have a choice, leave it dry or add back into it for the sweet flavor or the flavor of what was initially used to create it. Most wineries don't even have a vineyard, they buy the grape juice already processed and create their own version from it. I have been to most of the wineries in the state, I have my faves like everyone else, but I have never had a winery comment that other wineries add sugars etc in. When I know that all do it, if not every wine made would be dry!
I like many have my own likes and dislikes and what I believe a sweet wine should taste like depending on its placement on the menu. 6 tastes for $5 is a good price The pour is a bit skimpy, others in the area have a better pour on their tastings. That could be the servers pour, or the owners way of doing it. Just not enough to make a bottle decision. The wine. The list is good, but some of the wines if you were to rank them by where they land in the list should be more of a semi selection. Blueberry - not much flavor, blackberry (this is pretty much every wineries number 1 seller) - not a lot of flavor. Elderberry - different, not bad. Black currant was good, tart and sweet. Of the ones I tried I would recommend it.
Your options will be based on the kind of wine you drink, via what tastes you like. It...
Read moreThe shop itself is very cute and the seating area outside is nice. Only 3 stars because of wine quality. We tried their Cabernet and their Malbec and both were abysmal. Tasted nothing like a bold red should. Both were flavorless and one actually had a slight fizz to it which was a little concerning. Prices were good though and if you are in the area, the wine slushes are a must try! We would go back for wine slushes and...
