As a local, I have always enjoyed the Candy Dishâs products. However, I will not return due to the attitude and rudeness of Julie. On many occurrences over the years she has been rude when I have visited the store and made a purchase, to the point I have avoided the store when I have walked by and seen she is working. Today I had friends in town and we decided to stop in. When paying cash she told me she would not accept one of my bills because itâs âtoo dirtyâ and spoke down to me, saying didnât I know that banks donât accept dirty bills? I have worked in the restaurant and bar industry for 12 years and have served in supervisory roles. Never have I ever spoken down to a customer for paying with cash. I am including a picture of the bill I attempted to pay with, as well as a description from the federal reserve on the condition of bills. I am aware that there is new ownership and I would highly advise them to consider the attitude of long term employees and how it will affect local and touristâs business- especially if she is not accepting cash that is allowed by the US federal reserve and all commercial banks due to...
Read moreWhat is UP with the people working here? They are the rudest, most unfriendly folks I have ever encountered buying candy. Judging from the other reviews, I'm not alone in this assessment. I spent over $25 on fudge (which was delicious), but got major attitude when I asked for the peanut butter fudge to be in a separate box from the maple fudge. A simple request, met with slamming around of my first box of fudge, and the CRAMMING of my maple fudge into a second, too small, box. I tried to make pleasant chit-chat throughout the process, but my comments were met with a stony silence, Candy Dish People: if you hate your job so much, maybe it's time to get a non-service job at a car-wash, auto-parts plant, or similar. You could stew in your own juices all day on the line, and not have to worry about annoying customers looking for a smile and a kind word when they but their CANDY. Nashville has many, very friendly, people working in the shops downtown, some of which even sell fudge. I suggest friendly candy-buyers seek another alternative to the surly, unhappy people selling candy in a rude manner at...
Read moreI can't complain about the quality of the candy. The candy is wonderful. However, we had a terrible experience with the customer service. While my family & I were picking out our candy we asked how the taffy was sold & questioned outloud if it was priced by the pound. The lady at the counter rudely said "well you can buy it by the piece if you really want to" in a very rude manner. When I asked if you took credit, she again rudely said that only for orders at $10 or more. If I'm being honest, I was embarrassed by the way she said it to me in front of all of the other patrons. Lastly, as I was leaving the store, I began opening my kids suckers as they were tired from a long day & no nap to pacify them. The lady proceeded, again RUDELY, to tell me to not open the candy IN THE CANDY STORE because it will get on the floor & get sticky. The costumer service, the tone used, & the fact that candy is not allowed opened in a candy store simply amazes me. Though I loved the candy, I will not...
