December 1994 while I was delivering a package to Nashville Indiana with my job I stopped by the Brown county playhouse to see what that was I found people singing and acting in there and they asked me if I sang or acted and I said yes I'm a singer and a songwriter by the grace of God and from that point on they asked me to sing in their show called A country Christmas and Bobby helms of jingle Bell Rock Fame was also in that play! They had me sing three songs and do a poem on the first night it was pretty awesome pretty good size crowd too! God had me write a poem for the first night called rejoice all ye lands and I spoke it to the song I wonder as I wander! I sang three Christmas songs before that I think two of the songs if I remember was o Holy night and silent night I can't remember the third one but it was awesome to be a part of it! I never met Bobby helms but just to be in the same play that he was in was pretty awesome! I got standing ovations and I credit that to God because he's the one that allowed it to happen in the first place! The actors an singers I got to audition with were really awesome and talented people before they had me go on my first night! I will never ever forget that or the special people I got...
Read moreWe are locals and we volunteer at the playhouse as ushers and in the bar regularly. This place is such a gem in the middle of Brown County! They have a huge variety of musical acts and community theater an intimate 400 seat space. There isn't a bad seat in the house! Lots of musical and comedy acts - Heywood Banks and Garrison Keillor as well as Henry Lee Summer, and lots of tribute bands ( think Journey, Buffet, Abba) that are really really good. It is usually open seating so choose your spot and the bar is fabulous 😍. The bartender has specially themed drinks that match the performance a full bar, local beer and wine, and hot popcorn. This is a non-profit organization and the community theater performances are amazing! Right now is Legend of Sleepy Hollow and it's a Christmas Story in December of 23. They sometimes show recent or themed movies for a very low price. I recommend visitors always check out what's playing while you're in BC. Advance tickets available or same day at the box office and very...
Read moreI walked by this establishment today, and asked the man working if the concession stand was open to the public (those that are not opting to view the show) he responded rudely, dismissively and was terribly condescending. I have always wanted to see a show in this venue, however after this experience, I will never attend one. I have told the entire group of people that journeyed with me to Nashville today to not go to this establishment. If this is the type of employees they hire, or if the owner behaves in this manner, I am left puzzled as to how anyone could enjoy a moment in their presence. I will be sure to walk quickly by this venue my next time in Nashville, as the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I give my experience with the staff today "two...
