I’m not going to complain about the gnats getting in two mimosas, and I’m not going to complain about the food that was clearly cooked from frozen out of a box. And I’m not going to complain about the red beans coming from a can or the instant rice. I’m not going to complain about the gumbo that was just absolute trash. I’m here to say something good. The fridge bread was good. So if you wanna pay $72 and some change plus a tip for some good French bread, this is your spot! We will never come back here!
FYI… the house salad dressing was so sweet that we saved a little bit to put on our French bread for dessert. We also noticed on the menu that certain crawfish and shrimp originate from a foreign country, which was shocking because the restaurant is in Louisiana.
Helpful tip: Instead of paying $17.99 for the meat pie plate, just go to any local gas station that serves them and pay a couple dollar dollars or so and save some money. I’m sure there’s at the gas station comes from the same box as this restaurant.
Service was good. The women’s restroom was not clean and had garbage...
Read moreMy first time there, and I had heard so much good about this place, so I was excited to try it. My main entree was the baked potato topped with crawfish etoufee and one fried jumbo shrimp. It came with a side salad which the salad brought to me was not impressive at all. The potato was ok, but not something I would order again…. No WOW factor that I was hoping for, being the menu noted it was a top choice. And last but not least…. I am a big fan of bread pudding (very popular in the south) so I was excited to try theirs. I was soooo disappointed! I think it was the worst presentation of bread pudding I have ever had! The bread pudding was sitting in a bowl of what should have been the delicious Rum or butter sauce but it had the consistency of milk! It was not thick AT ALL, and there was a lot of it!…meaning the liquid… not the bread pudding! I poured it off! YUK!!! And it was supposed to come with whipped cream on top but did not! Just TERRIBLE! I almost...
Read moreDid y'all change the recipe for the Cajun potato? It seems spicier than I remember. Also, y'all aren't using those crawfish from Vietnam are you? They taste different. Also, the salad was mostly stems, not a lot of leaves. Since Covid and being a 24/7 caregiver for my ailing husband, I haven't been there in over 2 years, so maybe it's not a recent change. But I'm a tad disappointed that I decided to treat myself to delivery and splurged and it tastes different. It's not bad...but I liked it much better when I had it last. It looks the same (loved the napkin) but surely didn't taste the same.
Edit: When I got to the bottom of the potato, it was burnt!!! That may have something to do with ylthe taste being "off." Very disappointed. Yes. I ate it. Hungry and it...
