Bargain Paradise at National City Swap Meet
I recently explored the National City Swap Meet, and it's a treasure trove for those in search of all kinds of goodies, both new and used. From appliances to household items and tools, you're sure to find whatever you're looking for in this bustling marketplace.
The variety is impressive, but be prepared for the crowds – it's a popular spot! Parking can be a bit of a trek, but the large parking lot usually ensures you'll find a spot. Once you're in, the range of items is worth the hustle.
A notable feature is the little restaurant on-site, serving up delicious tacos and other fast food with a Mexican flair. It's been a fixture for years, well-known among regulars. Keep in mind it's only open during the swap meet on weekends, but it adds a flavorful touch to the overall experience.
Despite the crowds, the swap meet offers a unique atmosphere for family walks and browsing through what feels like a giant garage sale. It's a one-stop destination for finding hidden treasures and enjoying a...
Read moreThe vendors are extremely rude & nasty. Some check eBay to see how much a brand new item is priced at and will try to get the same price for their used, dirty and untested item. One lady threw her untested, dirty Apple cord back onto her cluttered table after I tried to negotiate for a better price since she had no idea if it worked. Another vendor had several items crammed into boxes with hidden sharp objects that I stabbed my hand on when digging through. Another vendor had wet electronics for sale. Another vendor threatened me and said “The price is the price & If you see me, don’t come back.” There is also a lot of counterfeit items for sale. I don’t understand what the point is of signing up to be a vendor at a swap meet with no intention of selling any items. The vendors need to stop being so crabby, rude and angry. No one is forcing them...
Read moreI was googling discounted fabrics and came upon the National City Swap Meet! What a find. I am an avid seamstress and always on the look out for deals on fabric and any kind of notion. I live in Yuma, AZ but come to San Diego whenever I can. Now that I have found the NCSM, it's always the 1st stop I make. The selection is great, but you can't go with a very specific need cuz you may not find it, but if you are looking to restock your inventory, this is the place. If you are on a budget, take only that much in cash, cuz you will see so many things you like you'll go home broke. :'( wear comfortable shoes, a hat for the sun and don't be afraid to haggle with the vendor. They expect it and you will get your money's worth and more. HAPPY...
