What a shame! I went to school there in Nelsonville moved away many many years ago however, every Thanksgiving or Christmas we are back in town. So we’ve made it a normal occurrence to swing by The store everybody picks out a few shoes, a couple boots maybe some other things that are on sale and we walk out with four or five bags full of stuff. We’ve done this for years and years. This year, unfortunately I’m walking out empty-handed. My son came up for Thanksgiving. We did not make it. We are now here for Christmas. He tried to tell me that the pair of boots he and I have that we absolutely love and we’re looking Forward to getting another we’re now priced at $200 I thought for sure he had to have messed something up I look online and I see a wonderful sale. Buy one item get two free obviously you pay for the higher price item I get that. Went ahead and swung in today and imagine my surprise sure enough the shoes that were marked MSRP of $149 for the last three years and I would buy them on clearance for 50 bucks sometimes 60 bucks are now supposedly on clearance at a wonderful price of $195 As I continue to shop all three floors that storyline remains the same they’re assuming that you’re too stupid to look up the actual price of these shoes and then you’ll just get excited because you’re getting two free shoes! I actually found a box that they had forgot to take the old sticker off of but had the original price of $180. It is now get this on clearance for $230. Wow what a deal then if you do your due diligence and look up on Google (Try Google pictures on your phone. It’s an amazing tool) you’ll find that that exact shoe is on clearance on the rocky website for $59 the original MSRP was $180.99 how strange I thought it was on “clearance” for $230. I asked A few employees if the sale was gonna be the way they’re doing things from now on I didn’t make a huge scene or say it very loudly but you could tell they were not excited to answer that question because apparently quite a few people called them out, especially folks like myself who have purchased numerous items over the last few years. The gentleman told me as far as he knows it’s gonna go on for quite a while when I made the correction of the price Being incorrect and marked to gouge people, he shook his shoulders and said yeah I guess they just want you to buy three shoes. I laughed out loud and said funny thing is when I would come in here the last 5 to 6 years everybody in my family would walk out with three or four pairs of shoes now playing this game I don’t wanna buy any because it doesn’t make any sense. So unfortunately, this will be my last trip to the outlet store And it ends an era of my family always having multiple rocky boots. What stupid way to do business let’s assume our customers are too stupid to do any research or that they’re not return customers. I did hear a few other people walking around going “wow that seems really high.” “How is that? A clearance price?” I’m sure this will fall on deafs ear. I won’t go into detail of some of their mid Price boots and shoes in the last few years having slowly gotten worse in quality. If it’s the right price it still wasn’t too bad especially for teenagers but I mean come on. Particular hiking boot I’ve wore for the last five years magically goes on clearance for $60 more than it’s normal MSRP retail price that we never paid full price in the store to begin with All you’re doing is screwing your customers. I guess buyer beware and sure was fun Rocky’s back when we could get decent boots and shoes for a reasonable price. I’ve been in sales and business for 20+ years. This is gotta be the dumbest decision I’ve ever seen from the company. I hope you can keep the doors open. Would be a shame to see you shut down, but it’s kind of the way you’re moving at this...
Read moreThis store is made up of 3 floors. They mostly have lot of shoes and boots. If you are into hunting, need good walking shoes, or are a nurse, this place is for you. They have hunting boots and gear. They have scrubs and comfy shoes if you are on your feet all day. They have all different types of boots: tall and short rubber boots, hiking boots, and hunting boots. They have comfy clogs, comfy shoes, and hiking shoes.
They used to have a whole third floor of women's clothes. I don't think they were a good seller because every time I have visited the store since, they slowly were getting rid of them. Now, there's no women's clothes at all. The store is more than half made up of shoes. I did liked the clothes, though.
They also have a room on the first floor that sells guns, ammo, knives, and bows. They even have a cafe on the first floor!
This place is very pricey, but you get what you pay for; comfy, long lasting shoes/boots. There are sales and a clearance section on each floor, so it's not too bad. My husband and I have bought a few shoes from them throughout the years and we still have them and are still in good shape! This store is a great...
Read moreWell it was nice to look around after not being there in a while, however we were not able to find what we were looking for. The husband just wanted some descent work boots. What we found instead was a lot of mucks which are nice, but not for all work situations. As well as plenty of cowboy boot styles and again not what we needed. When you did find regular style boots most times they were either WAY to heavy or WAY over priced especially considering a lot of them had glued bottoms and not stitched. Sadly to say I suppose I haven't missed anything by not being there in so long and did not see any reason to return any time soon..... sorry Rocky maybe some folks would say you should have just stayed true to who you were instead of buying muck. At least bring back some of the better made boots that I remember Rocky for. I'm sure a lot of long time customers would appreciate it because I did notice that we were not the only customers not finding what was needed. I hope this helps better your future...
