Adventure Playground — Attraction in New York

Original four star review:

Very cool playground for older kids (3 and over).

There are several multi level structures to climb, progressively harder, good for kids as young as 2.5 and as old as 12.

The place is in very good shape, probably recently renovated.

There is a nice size sprinkler section, with a 'river' that runs through half the park.

There are no restrooms and no swings.

There are several mature trees providing plenty of shade. There is seating for parents along the perimeter.

Overall one of the best playgrounds...

Fun playground with equipment vaguely in a shape of architecture like castles, pyramids, bunkers and canals. So children can reenact historical battles like Salamis, Embabeh, or Verdun...or just run around and have fun. There’s a smaller separately fenced playground for toddlers across the pathway which seems like a good idea to keep the ages separated...until you are trying to watch two kids of different ages. Adventure Playground in Central Park is a nice little gem. My wife and I have taken our 2 year old grandson to many of the different playgrounds in CP below the mid-70s.
