Flower Power Dispensers — Local services in New York

I don't know what's taken me so long to do this, other than putting the reviews i've done in the wrong spot lol.. I really enjoy the people who work here, always a chill atmosphere ( Eileen and Skylar I've gotten to know the best, and it's nothing against the rest of the awesome staff ). I love the space that they were able to move into. It's different than pretty much all the other legal dispensaries in Manhattan ( i'm yet to get to more in other boroughs, but hear great things). Im a huge oil guy, so thats what i'm usually focused on at this specific spot. I love Rove, and they carry the brand, my only issue is that they like to get the AIO's without ordering the reloads ( which are cheaper, could be made to be even cheaper, and compete with the lowest prices i've found 77$ per pod in the city, and I would never have to go to another dispensary, ever - not to mention it would be better for people and the environment, to keep, and reuse those batteries - They carry the best New York brands ( MFNY, Nanticoke, The Green Lady (originally from Nantucket Island), Aryloom, Rove(New York), Fernway( originally from Mass, but now grown in NY, amongst others.... ), and are on top of whatever's new, to bring to their customers ( would love to see them carry heavy hitter pods, and stay stocked with the 1 gram AIO from Aryloom, and MFNY - can never get enough of the MFNY). They are usually always stocked with the best edibles ( the only other thing I can truly comment on here, other than some great florist farm infused pre-rolls) , but again my one qualm is that they're typically 5$ more per item than other dispensaries. While i'm certainly aware of the many factors that go into pricing etc... I try my best to support them, while still having to be a bargain shopper with the initial price plus tax , that we have to deal with for now. Always have to remember - It is New York City. They are newish, and are changing computer systems, so please give em a break if you have to wait an extra minute... PPP! ...

The moment you arrive the security guard opens the door for you with a very friendly smile and manner. It should be said that he does the same on the way out. The store itself has a nice vibe, and the selection is solid in terms of variety and quality.

And in fairness to the staff, I have found them to be largely friendly, and at least half of them are knowledgeable.

The truth is however, the ratio between friendly & knowledgeable and passive-aggressive & and not as knowledgeable, has moved firmly into the latter camp.

I have spent a lot of money in this place, and I have also referred friends or brought then with me to check the place out. But increasingly, if there are ever one or two occasions where I'm not ordering fast enough to their liking or I'm not spending a king's ransom on product, the friendliness of some staff goes into sharp decline. There's also been an increasing trend in upselling.

Bottom line, (and the reason for this review) I'm tired of walking out of this place feeling like I offended the seller when I am the customer being left with a sense of ick. Given the neighborhood this place is in (the rent can't be cheap) coupled with the fact of how many dispensaries there are across the city now, if this trend continues, I don't know how long they are going to stay open.

My advice to potential customers, if you're in the hood and you want to get something, go for it, but you should probably order ahead of time online. Or just avoid and go somewhere else. Housing...

On 01-17-25 was my 6th time coming here, I LOVE this place. From the security guard at the door who greets us with a smile always, (I must get his name) then there's Nadeem who was the first bud tender to help me, I told him what I like and he has yet let me down with his recommendations. Then there's Ashley who I've had the pleasure of dealing with who is sweet, very patient with me while trying to use my credit card to make a purchase as a debit not realizing it was a credit card instead and as I was getting frustrated it was Ashley 's kind demeanor that calmed me down. I've also had the pleasure of meeting Eileen who has helped me out twice, and I think she gets a kick out of me when I pull out all of my passed receipts just so I don't forget the GREAT products I've purchased before. I just wish there was a FLOWER POWER on the upper west side in the 90's. I will diffently recommend this...
