Snapped at Four Spots! Which New York Retro Photo Booth is the Best?

Nestled at the bustling corner of 1900 Broadway in Manhattan, The Smith NYC offers a delightful breakfast experience that effortlessly combines comfort and quality. This location has quickly become one of my favorite spots for starting the day, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The decor is chic yet cozy, with ample seating that accommodates both solo diners and larger groups. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is pleasant from start to finish. During my recent visit, I opted for the Chicken Sausage and Eggs Benedict, a twist on the classic Benedict that perfectly showcases The Smith NYC’s innovative approach to traditional dishes. Chicken Sausage and Eggs Benedict: This dish stands out with its perfectly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise sauce, and the unexpected yet delightful addition of chicken sausage. The Eggs Benedicts here are always amazing, but these ones are different. Instead of the traditional Black Forest Ham, they feature flavorful chicken sausage. This substitution adds a unique flavor that complements the eggs and hollandaise beautifully, making this Benedict a must-try. The chicken sausage was truly outstanding, with a savory flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. It has a little tangy taste that adds a delightful kick to the dish. The ingredients are clearly fresh, and the care taken in preparation is evident. The eggs were poached to perfection, with a yolk that oozes just right when cut into. The English muffin was toasted just enough to provide a slight crunch without being too hard. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, tying all the components together wonderfully. The only difference I noticed compared to other locations was the home fries served here. They were less crispy and missing that satisfying crunch I love, and the reason why is because they add sauté onions and it moisturizes the homes fries a little to much, but they are still great don’t get me wrong. Overall, the breakfast at The smith NYC’s 1900 Broadway location is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a comfortable setting. The Chicken Sausage and Eggs Benedict is a standout dish that offers a delightful twist on a classic favorite. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Manhattan, this spot is definitely worth checking out for a satisfying start to your day.

This place is bustling! I went in the evening around 7 and it was packed, though I didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Service was attentive but a little slow, although it’s understandable given how many people were there. My favorite thing right off the bat was the fact that there was both sparkling water and regular water at each table. I love sparkling water, so this is a big plus for me. We also got some bread to start off with, which came a bit late on. It was completely cold, but had a good slightly sourdough-like flavor. The food is average in my opinion. We had a vegetable bibimbap, Smith bar steak, and two of each oyster. The bibimbap was piping hot, although the flavor was a little bland and honestly average. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, and well-seasoned. The green peppercorn sauce was a bit lackluster. Fries were crispy and had a nice salty flavor. The oysters tasted fantastic and came with hot sauce, horseradish, vinegar, and cocktail sauce (the latter of which was a little too ketchup-y)but that’s to be expected of the 4 dollar each price point. Overall, I’d go again if I’m in the area (and I don’t want to try anything new), but there’s not really anything special to make me go out of my way to do so!

We were walking by when we decided to give it a try for lunch. Was extremely busy and we thought we may have to wait to get a seat but luckily we were seated right away. But since it was a little past lunch time we noticed that it was winding down and clearing up a bit. We had to wait a little for our server to show up but that long wait gave us time to look over the menu and decide on what to eat. We decided to get the calamari to start and a blt&e and pastrami grill cheese sandwich. We made our order and at same time asked for some lemon wedges but I guess our server fo got about the lemon wedges. A short wait later we got our food and it was amazing. The calamari was perfect and the sandwiches were awesome. Very big portions that we ended up skipping dinner! Only reason for 4 stars was that once we placed our order our waiter just pretty much disappeared and didn’t show up till it was time to bring us the bill. Even that he just brought and disappeared again. Other than the so so waiter the food was great a bit pricy but worth every penny!

Wow! This place is awesome!!! It can be a little noisy here when the restaurant is full (which is pretty much every night after 5ish...reservations are highly recommended), but other then that, this is one of my favorite restaurants. Four of us dined here before seeing The Nutcracker!), our waiter (Kevin J.) was super nice, and as for the menu, I highly recommend the following dishes: Salads: Tuna Poke, and their Kale and Quinoa Salad. Apps: Mushroom Flatbread, Crab Cake (not your standard crab cake), and Potato Chips with Bleu Cheese Fondue. Entrees: Mustard Crusted Trout, Salmon with Portobello Mushrooms, and the Cod with Sweet Potato Hash. For sides, the Garlic Spinach is delicious, and the Jalapeno Cheddar Grits are amazing! Lastly, their Pineapple Upside Down Almond Cake and Sticky Toffee Pudding are two of the best desserts I've ever had! PS They also have a really creative cocktail menu...If you like Tiki drinks, try the Billow and Thieves, it's made with chamomile-infused rum, cinnamon, honey, almond, orange, lime, and tiki bitters

Lousy service. Average menu. Very disappointing. I booked the table in advance for the special event. Hostess was unpleasant and looked annoyed. She kept me waiting while accommodating customers arrived before me. She kept sending me to the least comfortable table. I would not mind if I just popped in but I made a reservation in advance and they had plenty of comfy tables. Our server was an unprofessional and unpleasant either. He was very annoyed by my questions about the menu. And later he was gossiping and negative commenting me to his coworkers whole putting my order in. Very unpleasant experience. The hostess refused to tell her name. The server's name was Geraldo. Food menu was average. Taste was average. Only one positive experience from the attending this place was the manager Jessica who apologized for our bad experience. Anyway I would not recommend this place. There are a several restaurants next door with much better menu and service.
