Huge Gaga fan since the very beginning with The Fame, hence the visit to Joanne Trattoria. TLDR: If you want to experience a fun vibe with Gaga memorabilia and Gaga music, go! It’s worth the experience for a one time visit. However, particular dishes leave room to be desired. PROS: We made a reservation for 9:00 PM on a Thursday, and the place was about 1/2 full, which is to be expected for the time of dining. The server was quick, kind, and attentive and we were served quickly. Drinks: The Garden of Eden cocktail was really nice, and somewhat similar to a cosmo. Approx $24. We also had the house Chianti, which was nice. Food: The fried squash blossoms were really good, and came with a marina sauce which tasted great! I had the shrimp scampi over linguine and it tasted wonderful! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the shrimp was well cooked and seasoned. Cons: The Joanne Spaghetti with Meatballs AND sausage was a miss. The meatballs and sausage themselves were really great! However, the sauce was REALLY sweet, lacking flavor, and the noodles were pre cut up? And also very overcooked. It tasted similar to spaghetti from a can, which was so odd given the rest of the food was great. However, 2/3 people ordered this dish, which soured the overall experience. Just stay way from this dish if you dine here. If you’re hoping to see Gaga by chance, don’t even think it will happen. The waiter told us that last time she came it became kind of a mess, and it’s unlikely to happen again.

It pains me to write this review because we've been coming to this restaurant pretty often prior to covid, this Tuesday was our first time back for a special Anniversary dinner and we were shocked at how much the restaurant has changed. We had made a reservation and when we arrived, it took the host 15 minutes to see us and check us in. (Typically, that's a normal wait for a busy restaurant - there were about 3 other seated tables at the time). When we were seated, the server forgot about us and 15 more minutes later; he came back with bread and said "oops, I forgot about you!" We were disappointed to find out that there was no longer a cocktail menu and that my personal favorite, the Blueberry Lemonade cocktail (Gaga themed), was no longer listed. For the appetizer, we ordered the Fried Calamari; which was super soggy. We hoped that our main courses, the Ragu and the Shrimp Scampi would make up for the appetizer - we were wrong. The Shrimp Scampi came out and looked like the Garlic and Oil dish (posted on the website) with 4 shrimps. There was a severe lack of flavor- the garlic and oil; pooled at the bottom of the plate, was separated. Usually, I would expect a scampi dish to be lemony, creamy, flavorful; this dish lacked all of the above. The Ragu looked more like a stew than a pasta dish. There were chunks of carrot, celery, mushrooms, and veal; which all tasted like the Chardonnay wasn't cooked out of the vegetables all the way. The pasta tasted extremely underdone and we couldn't get through the meal. We were pretty disappointed at that point and were hoping that the dessert would make up for the meal. We used to love the Tiramisu and the presentation of it in the wine glass, so obviously we ordered our favorite dessert. This was a huge mistake. The tiramisu came out, and the cream looked pretty yellow - we ignored it assuming it was a different recipe. The cream tasted like it had turned, and the lady fingers were incredibly stale. The liquids were also pooling at the top of where we had taken the first bite out of. It seemed as if the tiramisu had been sitting in the fridge for a lot longer than the Restaurant would have liked to admit. All in all, $150 later, we left hungry and disappointed that we can no longer go back to our once favorite restaurant. Perhaps they changed managers during the pandemic? One of the major red flags was the gift shop they had set up at the front door - that seemed very out of place for the vibe that the original owners were trying to convey.

I'm super disappointed, and wish I had read a review like this before booking the...

I don't care who's the owner. I honest wasn't aware of that until I decided to look up Yelp review after the bad experience.

Three main things I expect from a restaurant: 1. FOOD 2. SERVICE 3. CLEANLINESS. Unfortunately, they got none.

FOOD NOT GOOD. Burnt or blend.... All I taste was burnt surface and inside has completely no taste. For all four dishes we ordered. Especially the linguine with clam plus the grilled salmon on the side. I asked for parmesan cheese hoping to add some flavor to it, but it was too bad to be fixed. The salmon was burnt outside. The inside tasted like the piece was boiled in water for too long and all the good stuff were gone. When I mentioned that to the server, she simply said "oh I won't charge you for the salmon". I said and the linguine with clam was also really bad. And she said, "ok i won't charge for that either". No apologies whatsoever. I was not planning to pay for something that bad I barely touched, but I expect an apology and any attempt to make things right. For example, she could have offered to have the kitchen make a new one or ask if I would like to order something else.

SERVICE NOT GOOD Beside what was mentioned. The server simply forgot our order and came back asking what would we like. We told her we already ordered and was with her ( there were two server serving us, not sure why). All she said was "oh I was just making sure I got your order right". Complete BS.

They had computer issue that day, so the server wrote the order on the pad and calculated using her iPhone calculator. However, for some reasons, it took her 3 times trying to correct her math and still wrong. Then she got irritated (for her own mistake?). I had to do the math myself including tax and tip and then paid cash....(Credit card machine didn't work due to computer issue.)

CLEANLINESS? The rest room was tiny and dirty. I was being very careful not to touch anything when I use it and when I trying to turn and open/close the door. I saw other reviewers mentioned rat problem, but I didn't see...

This place is not what it used to be. My first time at Joanne Trattoria was April 2017. I have occasionally came here over the next two years and I started to notice a change in the quality of food. In the beginning, the portions were great and so was the food. I do not know if they went under new management or what, but all that has changed.

My boyfriend and I went to get dinner during the week after work and decided to go to Joanne Trattoria. We noticed issues in the past but this time is the last time we will be going there.

My boyfriend orders the chicken parm and I get the lasagna. Our food came suspiciously fast...like 5 -7 mins after we ordered it. Our food was not steaming hot like it was freshly cooked. The lasagna was kind of just a mush pile with barely any taste. I used to get the chicken parm all the time but every time I did, the quality went down like the chicken didn't have the texture of real chicken. The quality and portions have gone down but the prices have stayed the same. The place is pretty but that is about it now.

Now the service. Our entire time there felt like we were being rushed out the door. Again, this was a day during the week so it wasn't a busy night at all. THREE different waiters all came by within 90 seconds of each other asking if I was done and yes, I did have plenty of food still on my plate. That ticked me off.

Lastly, our waitress. She had shoulder length dark brown/black hair, glasses and tattoos on her arm. My boyfriend and I were eating dessert and holding hands when she comes over without saying anything and drops the check between us, THREE INCHES FROM HIS FACE and just walked away. What if I decided I wanted some tea with my dessert? She dropped the check in his face literally 4 minutes after we got our dessert. Her rudeness was out of this world.

We both decided we will no longer coming back...
