The space is incredibly beautiful to view in NY, but visiting as a person of color, it wasn’t an atmosphere that was inviting nor welcoming. Towards the end of my viewing at this gallery, as I was capturing my outfit along with the artwork, I was unexpectedly interrupted by Marie, who works at this gallery, and how I no longer couldn’t take any videos. As I proceeded to let her know at that very moment that a video was not being taken instead it was a photo, she immediately disregarded what I had to say. Before this incident occurred, there were many occasions that I took a selfie video and even an outfit video right in the view of Marie, and she didn’t say anything; therefore, it was very puzzling for her to randomly say that I no longer couldn’t. I am a lover of interior designs, especially furniture/art galleries, and I have been to plenty of galleries where photography or videos are not allowed, which I always respect.
