COCO-MAT — Hotel in New York

I had the most amazing experience at Coco-Mat in Soho. I never tend to believe reviews are written by real people, but I'm writing one because it was such an unusual experience. I was walking around Soho on a trip to NYC (I'm a theatre buff who lives in Western MA) and have been wanting a new, preferably organic mattress and saw the Coco-Mat store. I was immediately greeted by friendly, warm people and delicious snacks (homemade brownies, nuts, fresh squeezed OJ!) and was encouraged (without any pressure) to try all of the beds in the store. My questions (endless) were all answered with good humor and kindness. Long story I came back a month or so later with my partner and had the same experience (try the Mango slices!).... and then was offered a chance to sleep on one of the beds overnight. The next time we came down, we did just that and wow, what a HUGE difference from my current (very old, admittedly) mattress. As the salesperson said, it would be life changing/sleep-changing. I loved it but still hesitated as I thought I might find something up closer to where I live. I tried a few times at this excellent local store but their organic latex mattress just didn't have the feel of Coco-mat's mattresses. It was kind of bouncy vs. the feeling of sleeping on a cloud of comfort. So I debated and went back and forth, but ultimately the warmth and total non-pressure of the salesperson (who was a delightful young Greek man) who kept answering my questions, that I finally decided to buy the mattress and topper from Coco-Mat. I will put an update once I've spent a month sleeping on it, but I suspect it will be a fabulous review. I'm 68, very lively, physically fit person so I hope to sleep on this bed for many years to come. I completely recommend this store and the philosophy and craftsmanship of the owner who cares about the environment and has made a bed that seems to surpass many others that are way more expensive. Five stars!

Okay, so the bed was delivered about two weeks ago by two of the nicest men who set it all up, removed my old mattress and box springs (which they had to chop up in the driveway to take away!) and moved my bed frame from another room and set it up in my bedroom. Then made the bed so carefully and all in an hour of time. So then came the first night! And yes, I have to admit that this bed surpasses all my hopes for it! It is truly amazing and as my salesperson said, "it is life-changing," or at least, "sleep-changing!" I wake up after deep sleeps without any joint hip pain (as I had when sleeping on my old mattress), not stuffed up at all (which I was every night), and not stiff. I LOVE this mattress. I wish everyone could afford one as it is so comfortable I cannot wait to lie on it at night or read on it when I have daytime free (like on the snow day yesterday). My partner loves it, too! It is totally fantastic and I'm so glad that after much debate, I went with Coco-Mat!!! I am writing this simply because I want to share my good fortune and hope you can get one, too. Today, I had the extreme pleasure of going to Coco-Mat Soho in New York City to shop for a mattress and pillows for my new apartment. Einat Katav was my Coco-Mat associate who guided me through the process of choosing a mattress. This company is very scientific about form and function of their mattresses, the individualized toppers that go on them and the different aspects of their pillows! Einat was INCREDIBLE. She is so informed about all the products and has such a passion to share her knowledge with the customer. She took her time with me, answered all my questions and even went the extra mile when I noticed they also have sofas. SO, she took me through that process as well. After much discussion, comparison and lying on matresses and pillows, testing the phenomenal sofa and then choosing the colors for it, I am ordering the Atlas Mattress with it's companion topper and also ordering the Myrsini sofa in a dark beige with the piping in a contrasting green color. Now here is the punch line! From the very start, I was very up front with her that I was moving to Athens, Greece in a month to my new apartment and would be ordering from the store in Athens this week but since I was in NYC, I wanted to test out the mattresses and ultimately the sofa (had no idea they sold them!) to make sure I knew what to order. SO, Einat was giving me all this amazing customer service, knowing the store in Athens would get the sale! How incredible is that? If you need a new mattress and are looking for a fabulous product with over the top customer service...Coco-Mat is your place and Einat Katav is your sales associate. You will be so glad you went to experience their amazing products and top drawer customer service. This was a shopping at it's very finest in every aspect. Stumbled into Coco-Mat this afternoon after frequently passing by on the way to work. Really great ethos in the store—think wood paired with houseplants stationed welcomingly amongst all natural bedding materials, calming lavender misting throughout the store. We were helped by Zografos who took great care to help make our visit special. Besides helping us find the duvet cover we wanted, Zografos passionately explained the philosophy of the store—eco-friendly, supporting workers in Greece, recycling all materials for products like slippers, etc-- and how Coco-Mat has contracts with luxury hotels around the world (there is even a hotel showroom in the basement). The items are expensive, but after learning about the store's philosophy and feeling the quality of the products, I think it's worth...
