I would avoid this Soho location and opt for the other three. My fiance and I went to the location a total of 3 times (1st to purchase the suit, 2nd and 3rd for alterations), and the only time we had efficient service was the first visit. Even then, the associate rushed us through the proccess. She didn't explain the alterations she was making, and didn't ask his preferences. In hindsight, she was only focused on making the sale, and not giving him a well-fitted suit.
When we returned the following Saturday for the second fitting visit, we waited at least 20 mins before being sent to the 4th floor. We waited another 10 minutes upstairs because there was only one associate helping at least 3-4 other parties who were there for the same thing. While this associate was rushing us and abrasive with the second round of alterations, we remained understanding, but having only one person doing readjustments on the whole floor seemed inefficient, espeically for a weekend.
For our third fitting, we met with the same 4th flr. associate again, and same as last time, she was running around helping multiple parties while another associate was leaning on the table zoned out. The readjustments that were made still didn't fit my fiance, it seemed like they let out his pants instead of taking them in, and he commented how it felt like he was wearing a hand-me-down suit.
He was so fed up, we immediately headed to the Brookfield place location (his friend had reccomended Brookfield earlier that day) where we received AMAZING service from Victor, it was night and day. Victor was friendly, understanding, and took the time to explain the further alterations needed. He was detailed and knowledgable with different alteration options, and how to compromise my fiance's preferences with what VIctor thought would balance out the suit as a whole. He also took the time to explain the nature the fabric, how to care for it, and to be careful with further alterations because of the fabric.
The thing that pushed me to write this review was that Victor explained that with my fiance's body type (he has an athletic build with broader shoulders), a custom suit would have suited him better, and the price difference was not much more. This highlighted how inattentive the Soho associates are, and how they gave off a "take it or leave it" attitude. I would have given them the benefit of doubt thinking that this was a one-off experience, but my co-worker had told me about his bad experience at the Soho location a few months earlier.
Soho seems to be the largest location, with the biggest sales floor, so they might have the most options to look at, but I would only go there to window shop and not...
Read moreI’m sure the staff at SS Soho already get plenty of compliments for their outstanding service but I just have to add to the list
They’ve made the process for someone trying to start expanding his style beyond the standard navy suit or jeans/t-shirt combo surprisingly easy and enjoyable
The staff have been incredibly patient each time I throw tons of questions their way and go a step further to recommend pieces that fit my personality pretty nicely
And like any great relationship, it gets better over time. Have already referred other friends (early 20s) to start building their wardrobe at SS
Here’s a few instances of the memorable client service that come top of mind:
Steven – Was very knowledgeable about the clothing / how the fit should look on me and has been incredibly friendly each time. Handled alterations pretty quickly and we joked that made-to-measure would definetly be the better option next time around
Deven – Very personable to work with, it was like seeing a long-time friend after years. Introduced me to a few new fabrics / styles I’ve never seen before and got me comfortable by starting with the more versatile pieces
Veronica – Incredibly friendly attitude, she was casually walking by and offered to help once she I was looking confused. We picked out some polos that would match well with what I already had and she helped handle an exchange seamlessly another time when one of the buttons came off
Jonas – Super thoughtful in walking me through outfits that would / wouldn't work based on these uncommon powder blue loafers I had. Was kind enough to teach me about different materials, styles and fitting for my body type. Ended up going the custom route and didn’t feel pressured the buy...
Read moreMy experience with Suitsupply was a mixed bag. My initial appointment with their expert started off well. I had high hopes for a great tailoring experience. However, my enthusiasm was quickly dampened by subsequent follow-up appointments that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
During these follow-up appointments, I encountered significant issues with inconsistent information. I was initially informed that my pants would be tailored in a specific way, only to receive them back unaltered. This was not only a waste of time but also a source of considerable frustration.
The poor treatment during one appointment was particularly disheartening. The expert I had made an appointment with seemed to be juggling multiple customers, which left me with little assistance and a sense of being rushed through the process.
In an attempt to rectify the situation, I made an appointment at a different Suitsupply location, hoping for a more satisfactory experience. However, my hopes were dashed when I was told that the previous store had provided me with inaccurate information. To hear that the alteration I was promised was "impossible" was both perplexing and disappointing.
Overall, my experience with Suitsupply was marred by inconsistencies and poor communication. While the initial appointment showed promise, the subsequent follow-up appointments and conflicting information left me feeling frustrated and let down. The lack of a consistent and reliable service was a significant drawback. It's essential for a brand like Suitsupply, which prides itself on tailoring expertise, to ensure a higher level of consistency and transparency in their services to maintain customer trust and...
