We booked this hotel for a 1 night stay with 2 rooms totaling $700 to visit a terminally ill family member. After driving 5 hours we arrived at this hotel and the moment we entered the hotel there was an intense smell of body odor, reeked of stank armpits. I asked the front desk person if we could have rooms on the same floor, she said no so one room was on the first floor and the other on the second floor, not ideal but okay it’s one night. We get to our first floor room is more funky than the lobby was..I go back to the front desk and ask for a different room, the initial response was they are at capacity and have no additional rooms. I then asked to speak with a manager who then offered another room at a higher rate…but I thought you were full, immediately shady and dishonest. Then I told him I was not paying extra for a room change and he told me I could find another hotel. We were already exhausted and didn’t want to search for another hotel so we stayed. I cleaned the room the best I could but I NEVER slept. Our room that was on the first floor was right by the elevator and stairs so every time someone entered or exit the elevator we could hear it and them. In addition when you open the door of the room you can see people staring back at you that are eating in the lobby or anyone who was standing in front of the hotel which is obviously a safety issue. Zero privacy and zero quiet. Tiny rooms. This is the worst hotel I’ve personally ever stayed in and the rude manager didn’t care whatsoever. I would sleep in my car before...

The best part is the location — just a 2-minute walk to the 2 & 5 subway lines, which get you to downtown Brooklyn in 20 minutes and Manhattan in 30–40. There’s also a McDonald’s, Target, and other food options around the corner.
However, there were several drawbacks. The staff felt indifferent and untrained. For example, we returned one night to find no toilet paper had been restocked, and body wash and shampoo ran out with no refills, even though we were staying multiple nights. Housekeeping was inconsistent — some days the towels were changed but the bed wasn’t made; other days only the trash was taken out or nothing was done at all.
Rooms are very small — barely enough space to walk around or store anything beyond a carry-on. On top of that, we experienced low water pressure in the shower and a small leak behind the toilet. Soundproofing is poor; we could clearly hear traffic and people revving engines outside. The building also doesn’t feel especially secure, as you don’t need a keycard to access the elevator.
For the price, it’s not the worst option, but the rooms are much smaller than advertised. I’d personally recommend the Avid Hotels in Dyker Heights instead — similar pricing, much better staff, quieter area, and more comfortable rooms (though it’s a little further from public transit — about a 10-minute walk to...
