This establishment's priority is not good customer service. Iāve never received such bad customer service in this capacity in a nail salon, not even at non-black-owned establishments. Unfortunately, this is a black-owned business. I have been going to Vanity Bar for 6 months. I had my first appointment with Francesca. She was great energy, so I continued booking my appointments with her. I was in need of a fill-in but unfortunately, Francesca was unavailable, so I booked with any available nail tech. My appointment was with Krissy. I arrived at my appointment last week Thursday, and was told by Krissy to wash my hands. When I sat down at her table I said āhelloā to her, but she said nothing back. She was busy on her phone, so I assumed that maybe she didnāt hear me. I noticed she had a nice design on her nails, I asked to look at it and told her that her nails were really cute. She said nothing back, she continued filing my nails. A few minutes past by. I noticed that one of my nails that had previously lifted, she clipped and filed down. I was glad that it did not have to be replaced with a new nail. So just to make conversation, I stated āI thought I would of had to get rid of this nailā and giggled. She looked at me like I was crazy. This is when I realized she was just off. She looked like she didnāt want to do my nails or she was just irritated that I was there. Itās an uncomfortable feeling to be in an establishment, paying over $85 for a service and receiving such unpleasant customer service. Once my fill-in was completed she asked me what design did I want and rudely said āYou didnāt add nail artā I went straight to my camera roll to show her a pic of the nails that I wanted. I guess I wasnāt moving fast enough for her so she immediately, and rudely asked again. She looked at the design and asked āWhat color is that?!ā I said I donāt know. She looked behind her, irritated at the gel polishes, grabbed some color swatches and she slammed them down. I chose a color, and she picked up the nail swatch and made a face. She then started to paint my nails. After doing 4 fingers she stated āI hate doing French.ā I was literally over the whole experience. This turned me off from supporting this establishment. I will never come back here again. She was just so unprofessional. She is not even aware or conscious of what to say or not say. The customer service is very poor. You usually hear them gossiping and talking about each other and other customers. I work in management at a company, Krissy is not a person I would want to have working for my business. This girl has to be a family member or close friend of the owners, because by the looks of the other reviews she has received similar criticism since 2020. You would think she would at least have great nail tech skills. The acrylic is so thick and wide. She did well with the nail art though. Im not sure why she is still working here. This says a lot about the management. If you dare to come here avoid booking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a great experience with another nail tech, Alexis, the first time I came for a soak off. She was attentive and made care not to damage my nails. The second time I came here for a soak off with Krissy it was an unnecessarily horrible experience and I will not be going back. First, my online booking for the appointment did not get confirmed via email and I had to call them to get it done, the person on the phone had an attitude as well as if I was inconveniencing them. Second, I had arrived to my appointment a few minutes late but had seen Krissy working on another girl's nails. I honestly should have just left then and there, because what is the point in making an appointment if it isn't going to be honored. I sat and waited for her to finish, and she started on me, then stopped halfway to start on another girl. I had to wait AGAIN for her to finish that girl while listening to her gossip about other people's personal lives, it was abhorrent and unprofessional. As she was filing initially when she started she made a cut deep into one of my nail beds that I later saw upon coming home was red and hurt to touch. After she finally finished that other girl she made cuts into the bed throughout some of my other nails and didn't even fully scrape off the leftover gel, which I had to do with my nail file when coming home. I did not see the full extent of the damage until she finished and I really looked up close, it was the reason as to why my one finger was burning when trying to put it in the acetone soak. I didn't even get any cuticle oil applied at the place after my nails got butchered because of her. Then she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to make a future appointment. I will never be coming back. I put strengthener on it and have hoped for the best. However, waking up to a clear fluid built up under my nail because of just how much she dug into my nails, especially the one particular damaged nail with that drill, was my final straw. I had to reschedule my appointment for my nails elsewhere because of this, and I have an event coming up. Both time and money was wasted here. I left the salon an hour and a half after arriving, all for a SOAK OFF. Unprofessional and a real disappointment coming from a black owned business. There needs to be more consideration for people's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI drove by Vanity Beauty Bar the other day, and I was actually surprised this establishment is still operating. Before the summer, I stopped by this nail salon on a Saturday to get information and schedule an appointment. I met the owner and was delighted to see that the salon is also a black-owned business. I went ahead and scheduled my appointment for Sunday morning (the next day). Sunday came around, and I was running a little late for my appointment (but I called the salon and informed the receptionist of this). I arrived at the salon and was introduced to the young lady who would be giving me a manicure. The woman (she never told me her name) was hostile towards me the entire time I was there, and she only seemed interested in having conversations with another colleague of hers. Even worse, as she was using the electric nail buffer to remove the old nail color I had on, she constantly pressed the tool very close to my cuticles. I wound up with multiple painful cuts (which took about a week for all of them to heal).
When I arrived at the salon, it was relatively quiet. There were only a few other customers there besides myself. I also noticed the owner was not there that day. When I was halfway through my manicure, more customers began to show up. At this time, the young woman who was working on me began to rush to get me finished so she could move on to the next customer. She didnāt even wait for me to pay for my services first, because then she asked me to remove my jacket from the chair where I was sitting. She told me (and this was the most she said to me while I was at the salon) that she needed the chair for her next customer. But from what I could see, her next customer was heading to the back to get a pedicure. And when I was going to pay for my manicure, the receptionist asked if I would like to join their points program, but I declined. Honestly, that was my first appointment at Vanity Beauty Bar, and it will be my last. My experience there was not a positive one, and I found the customer service to be...
