This is probably one of the most scenic tracks I’ve ever run on. It’s a beautiful place to workout especially during sunset. The track and field are very well taken care of- shoutout to the park employees 🫡. It’s about 30 minutes from grand central and a 12 minute walk from the subway. However it does get PACKED in the evenings now that it’s warm outside. One of my grievances about this place is that a lot of people who run here lack self awareness and workout etiquette. Today I tweaked my hamstring pretty badly trying to evade someone who didn’t bother to look both ways while jumping into my lane while I was doing a sprint workout… That can actually be pretty dangerous, so people need to be more aware if they’re going to run here. Despite my experience, it is a great track and I’ll be back for future workouts, just at a different time of the day

Aug 2020. Awww a new cool track! They finished the $13M upgrade in around Oct 2019 and then Covid came around and the rest of the park is getting worked on now. We're looking forward to new bathrooms, too! It's a low key track with kids on the track, lots of folks working out inside the track area. Classes happening and good ol' soccer seems to always be happening too. Although some of the nets are already getting torn. 2 drinking fountains are working now on both sides of the track with 2 water fountains each and a water bottle refiller too.

Great soccer (football) field and running track in heart of Astoria park, with great scenery, view of the Robert F. Kennedy (formerly Triborough) bridge and Hell Gate bridge and skyline view, specially during nighttime. Relatively peaceful and definetly not too crowded. Astoria park itself is great spot for tourists and visitors who want to see something different from tourist hotspots and famous places. Photos are taken in summer 2023.

Currently being updated( 2019) The update process ended. It looks amazing. New track. Center part of the track was rebuild, I believe some drainage system was put in place, artificial grass for the green space. New Goals for soccer games and potentially football tag games. The outer part was repaved, new machines for exercise and light for night walls. The view is awesome like always. Love it. Blessings (2020)

The track at Astoria Park is a great place to exercise and play sports, both casually and competitively. There is a full-sized soccer field that can be split up for small-sided games. The quality of the track is good. Not perfect, but considering it’s a public space, it does the job. There is also a small/medium calisthenics area.

The Astoria Park Running track is a beautiful neighborhood amenity for local Astorians. It’s located right under the RFK bridge and has great views of the water. The field is always buzzing with kids soccer practices and the lights come on at night. Good place to walk/run with a community centered vibe.
