I dropped my new-ish (2019) Dell laptop off for diagnostic and repair and it took Raul 3 days just to tell me he wouldn't be able to fix it due to the soldered motherboard. Communication from drop off until pick up was spotty, despite promising he'd update me in 1 day with info if he could address the computer error.
I got back my computer in worse condition than I received it, it was dirty, had crumbs in the crevices, and the case was dusty. It seemed like there was no care or attention put into my repair process. I ended up taking my laptop to a Black owned repair shop nearby, and they were able to diagnose my laptop's issues in 15 mins, let me know the risks/provided me with a range of estimated prices based on the chosen repair & time, and they even have a mobile app where I can track the repair process.
I know these are different times and many people are being impacted in a variety of ways by this pandemic. I let Raul know that I was working from home with and needed a quick diagnostic, since I had already taken time off. I only see mostly positive reviews so I hope that this unprofessional service is a result of the pandemic. Before finding Raul, I actually went to an Apple-authorized service provider who couldnāt even tell me what was wrong. Then, when I went directly to Apple, they essentially discouraged me from fixing it at all. It felt hopeless until I found Raul.
From the moment I reached out, he was professional, kind, and incredibly responsive. His communication was top-tier; he kept me updated every step of the way. I had to order a new screen, and once it arrived, he had my computer fully repaired just two hours later. I couldnāt pick it up until the following day, but I was honestly shocked (in the best way) at how fast and smooth the turnaround was.

That Saturday morning I called around and took my machine in to the shop that opened earliest, at 9am, because I needed it fixed fast. Raul had responded to my text about the same time, but I took the machine to the shop that was closer to my home. This other shop, which I won't name, told me they'd call back with a firm diagnosis and a price by the end of the day. At 8pm, I called them, and was told make that, in three to four days's time. Hey we're busy -- yeah right, I know, things are tough. So I texted Raul back, and he wanted the business. From my description of the problem by text message alone, Raul made a (good) guess as to what hardware was needed, and picked it up in advance, because he was already on the road, and near his supplier. By that time I'd already lost a day in getting the machine fixed. I delivered the laptop to his workshop about 10pm that Saturday; he called for me to pick it back up at 1am that Sunday.
