Today the cherries at the memorial were in full bloom making an already beautiful memorial, even more so! This is a very pretty outdoor spot close to the courthouses and a nice variety of nearby eateries. Close to the Brooklyn Bridge. Worth exploring if time allows.

Sobering place commemorating the native Brooklynites who fought and died in World War II. Great stop for those exploring Brooklyn’s historic district.

This place has restrooms! They are public, often open, and are heated and not too gross. Find the north ("back") side of the memorial wall. There's a door there that looks like it has a monster latch that will never open, and Parks Department vehicles blocking the entrance. Ignore all this and pull on the door (or maybe push). Great for kids activities on the large lawn. There is often many dogs being walked in the area and there are weekend activities occasionally such as soccer games, movies and rallies. More popular during the summer but a great place to take an afternoon or...
