My husband and I spent the afternoon at Casa Amadeo. Mike Amadeo warmly welcomed us and shared his story of love for music, Puerto Rico, people and the work that he has dedicated a lifetime to refine. His record store has everything from oldies to contemporary music in multiple formats. Mike shared the history behind some of the music we bought. We will be returning to buy “maracas”, more music, and yes to hear more of this living legend’s story! If you haven’t been to Casa Amadeo, you really don’t know what you’re missing!

I wandered in not knowing what I'd find. Magic, pure musical magic, I met the guy behind the counter, the guy the street is named after, thr guy who wrote for Latin Americas greatest artists. Jeez! I'm not joking this place is a gem in western hemisphes musical history. It's more than just bronx, Mike's songs have touched the world over.

I'm in my 40s, Mexican from East LA and astounded that every artist I mentioned he wrote for them... from Selena to Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe to Julio Jaramillo, all here in spirit, on disk and true life through the stories of Mike Amadeo. Que Viva La Isla del Encanto...

Wonderful place to browse and talk music. The place is not huge, but it does hold a huge collection of mostly cds, some LPS, cassettes, books, and instruments. It is a CASH ONLY place. Proprietor Mike Amadeo is a songwriter as well. He has extensive knowledge of recordings and artists. The inventory is NOT just Salsa, nor is it only Puerto Rican music. He has music from all of Latin America. I even found some American pop and disco LPS among his records. This place holds a lot of musical history. Thank...
