I was appalled—along with many others—by the behavior of the priest at a funeral a couple weeks ago. In an act of stunning insensitivity, he interrupted the deceased’s grieving sister mid-eulogy after just five minutes, telling her to “wrap it up.” This moment was meant for her to honor her brother one last time, yet he stripped her—and all of us—of that opportunity.

The Catholic Church wonders why people are leaving the faith. Funerals should be a moment of solace, a chance to bring people back to their beliefs. Instead, this priest’s arrogance and lack of basic compassion had the opposite effect—I left feeling utterly repelled.

Father, if you read this, I hope you reflect deeply on your actions. This funeral was not about you. And yet, it was clear that you reveled in the sound of your own voice, basking in the attention as if you were the one being honored. It was nauseating to watch. A true man of faith serves his congregation; you served only your own ego.

Your behavior was not just unkind—it was un-Christian. Rather than offering comfort, you used this solemn occasion to lecture mourners on what you believe to be “un-Christian” values. That was neither the time nor the place. If this church hopes to grow—or even retain—its congregation, it should seriously reconsider who it entrusts to lead it.

Father, you should seek confession—for the sheer vanity and callousness...

My church was closed New Years evening. I wanted to attend live mass and receive the Eucharist. This was my first experience at at Church of Epiphany. Two large screens adorn the altar aside of the crucifix - used throughout the mass. Prayer and song lyric text appears (twice) in a very large font size. The church is not huge. During homily, the priest told a personal story that rambled along about this and that - the screens displayed visual images relating to his story and even included a clip from the film "Smoke" to make his point which was - slow down you might miss important details - good point, but do we need the film clip? Live, contemporary music - musicians and singers, highly trained and experienced. Throughout the mass, quite a bit of time was spent discussing church social functions and opportunities. A great array of food and drink was presented in the vestibule for all celebrants. I did not partake. I...

I have a husband who has autism the clicks in the church bulled him and the prist did nothing. Then when my husband forgot to call in because his mom was sick the prist Jim Mazick went totally aggressive on him. This man is racist and this church is racist. I am a devoted catholic and I suggest all do not go to this church. I think this place should be shut down or make the arch dioceses remove the priests and there corrupt...

Very welcoming community. Attended a Saturday evening mass. Good crowd, music and preaching was interesting. Priest used visual aid which worked well with his homily. Don't like the placements of the screens in the sanctuary though. Would return to worship.

Fr Titus’s New Year message inspired me for the year. Very friendly Parish. Practical place for young families with children. Beautiful Music.
