Being that I went here for Restaurant Week, I was looking forward to trying this location because I love Thai food, but it seemed as though there might have been a twist with their concept. The pics of their drinks and food were enticing. I loved how clean the space looked, there was an intimate feel for dinner which I loved.
I ordered a Thai Negroni (it was average, no surprises), the An Chan (beautiful presentation, I loved the lychees and the spicy rim) , and the Morakot (I'm a bourbon girly, so this was probably my favorite drink of the night, I enjoyed the spicy rim on this one as well).
For the starters we had the Raw Bar Sampler (perfect sampler for seafood lovers) and the Branzino rolls, (I felt there was too much filler, not enough fish, the ratio felt off and maybe you might only need 3/4 rolls as it requires a lot of chewing haha!).
For the mains we had the Hor Mok (a seafood medley casserole) and the Lamb Massamun (Braised Lamb shank).
The Hor Mok was pretty good. I loved the presentation and I really liked the fact that they separated the rice from the casserole. It was flavorful, good to look at and I really enjoyed the calamari especially in the medley. 4/5 stars
The Lamb Massamun was beautiful to look at, however I felt the lamb was a little more dry that I'd prefer, maybe a lil over cooked. If you enjoy sauces that are a little more sweet than usual, you might enjoy this. Personally I prefer more savory curries, but it is made with coconut so it has a sweeter taste. We also got it with the sticky rice (not a great choice as it was sweeter than the regular rice... I should have chosen regular rice or brown rice). 2.5/5 stars.
Now for the highlight of the dining experience... Dessert! We had both options (Coconut Pam Sundae and the Thai tea Panna Cotta). The Pam Sundae's best feature would be the Biscotti cookie as the topping which is just about the only thing that really makes it sweet. The filling of the Sundae itself is pretty bland. I felt the fresh rosemary was just thrown in for looks, but really doesn't compliment the Biscotti or the Maybe fresh mint would have been a better choice. 2/5 stars
The Thai Tea Pan a Cotta was the best thing I'd had from their menu, and I'm not even a dessert girly haha! Loved the lil churro pieces in it, the green sauce they topped it off with and the ice cream/gelato they used was amazing! 5/5 stars!
Unfortunately, their customer service was a little all over the place. The women servers were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately the men were generally impatient, or dismissive. If it weren't for the women of the establishment, we probably would not recommend this place or go here again. Very sad. But all in all, it's a cute place to grab some...
Read moreIn yonder quaint corner of our fair city, there lies a gem most resplendent: a Thai tavern known by the name of "Malii Gramercy." Verily, I say unto thee, this establishment deserveth naught but five bright and shining stars!
Upon entry, I was greeted with an aroma so divine, it didst transport me straightway to the bustling streets of old Siam. The decor, bedecked with marble tables and elaborate decors, doth enchant the senses, making one feel as though they have stepped into the court of a Thai monarch.
The service, swift and courteous, was as a gentle breeze on a summer’s day.
First, let us speak of the elixir divine, the Thai Tea. A chalice of this ambrosial brew was placed before me, and verily, it was a sight to behold! The hue, a rich and enchanting amber, did shimmer like the setting sun upon a tranquil sea. With the first sip, I was transported to a realm of sweetness and spice, where the fragrant notes of star anise and tamarind did dance upon mine tongue. 'Twas a nectar so smooth and creamy, I didst nearly weep with joy. I daresay, even Bacchus himself would abandon his wine for a draught of this heavenly concoction.
Now, let us turn our gaze upon the Pad Thai, a dish of such renown it needs no introduction, yet I shall extol its virtues nonetheless. When the plate was set before me, I beheld a masterpiece of noodles and artistry. The tender strands, entwined with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and plump prawns, did glisten with a savory sauce that can only be described as nectar of the gods.
With the first forkful, I was ensnared by a symphony of flavors, each note in perfect harmony. The tang of tamarind, the heat of chili, the crunch of peanuts – all did combine to create a veritable feast for the senses.
Verily, if thou dost seek an experience to set thine heart alight and thy taste buds a-tingle, look no further than the Thai Tea and Pad Thai at Malii. These dishes alone are worth the voyage, and thou shalt leave with memories as rich as the flavors thou hast savored. Five stars, and mayhap a constellation more, for this...

We stopped by Malii Gramercy for an early dinner in September 2024. I spent some time choosing a good Thai restaurant in the area based on reviews, menu selections, and interior. Malii Gramercy turned out to a great choice! All food we ordered was delicious, flavorful, and nicely presented. The portions very generous. The decor and ambience were pleasant and vibrant. Service was friendly and quick but the timing of the dishes could be better. Perhaps need to ask for this explicitly. The soups came when we just started on appetizers and the entrees came while we were still on soups and appetizers.
We highly recommend Malii Gramercy if you are in the area and looking for an excellent Thai restaurant!
Appetizers Duck Buns - duck was tender and flavorful. Roti Massamun - fresh warm roti was one of the best I had. Chicken massamun sauce with peanuts was delicious and perfectly fit the roti. Tom Kha with Chicken - rich and loaded with chicken. Not spicy at all but I got chili on the side and quickly made it to my taste.
Entrees Thai Herbs Ribs - very generous portion, tasty, and flavorful. Pad Thai Boran - excellent and nicely presented. Lychee Duck Curry - delicious and huge! The menu says "half duck" and they mean it! It's a lot of duck to eat but it was so good I made it, though had doubts initially :) The sauce was loaded with eggplants, peppers, pineapple, lychees. It was great but with the amount of duck and other stuff they could put more sauce itself. I kind of missed it a bit :) Also, eggplant pieces were full of seeds. Maybe it was some special sort of eggplant but imo it wasn't the best.
Drinks Lychee Martini - this one was good. Malii Mule - this tasted like just a lemon soda with no alcohol. Certainly not worth $15. Pass on this...
