I’ll make it quick. Room way too small. Space around bed by wall when you get out of bed inadequate. Even worse is the miniscule space at foot of bed, where I banged every part of my upper body and head trying to squeeze through, particularly at night. Sound insulation from outside noises almost non-existent. Loud to extremely loud all day and most of night. Starting at maybe 11Pm through maybe 2AM, incredibly loud banging noises like pile drivers running, made sleep very difficult. Starngely, no noise from other rooms or outside of room.Bed ok, not great. Ditto for pillows. Comforter really not very good, at all. Had small couch which was good, but room so small all it could be used for was to dump luggage on and we only had one carry-on and one 24” piece of luggage.Had a small table that proved useful. Night tables on side of bed pretty large and good for as we have great need for space. Sharp marble corners a bit dangerous. Sufficient outlets and USB ports over night tables on both sides of bed.Phone stopped working last day we were there. Had reasonably sized refrigerator which was very welcome and useful. Ditto for microwave, in cabinet above fridge. Keurig machine has good quality coffee and hot chocolate. Big TV with good choice of channels. Bathroom was also claustrophobic. Have to sit on toilet at angle as toilet paper holder will obstruct and jab your right leg and metal supprots for sink are so close your left leg will hit bang into them, as well. Shower so narrow I could barely fit in and I am a small guy. Otherwise, shower head good, flow of water and temperature control good and floor of shower nice and rough so not slippery, at all. Water seeps out of shower. Will need to sop up with towels. Light blocked out at night effectively by secondary shades.||Breakfast adequate, not great, except little egg quiche thing which was superlative, better than in most restaurants. Packaged muffin not bad and muffins when they don’t run out are ok. Typical eh machine OJ. Cereal with berries, actually pretty good, as was athe tosted bagel with cream cheese. Toaster set at perfect setting. Kudos for that. They had some yogurt and apples. And some other stuff.||Staff, as I said were very friendly and glad to help out. Outside of a couple of times requiring an extra phone call to get ice and towels and things, which happens in most hotels, service was very, very good, best part of stay, really. We’re grateful for that. When my wife had to take a taxi and was not feeling well, the woman from the breakfast room was at the front desk and she offered to help. There was a machine for ordering the taxi and she input all the information in asking my wife questions at each step. Then while my wife sat and waited, the woman went outside and waited for the taxi, then came in and ot my wife when it arrived. My wife is sorry she didn’t get her name so she could mention her name here.||Location very good. Restaurants and supermarkets close by.||If deficiencies could be fixed, it might be a very good mid-range hotel, but as currently configured, for price of room, I would imagine there might be better places to stay. Regardless, For us, it’s a no-brainer. We won’t be coming back.||Well, maybe it...
Read moreI was disappointed by my recent stay at this SpringHill Suites location. I selected this hotel since it was pet-free (We have allergies.) and located away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. The issues I encountered at this property left me thoroughly dissatisfied.||First, the rooms are significantly smaller than what is depicted in the online photos. As a Native New Yorker, I am accustomed to compact spaces, but the room provided was shockingly tiny, especially for two people! The inaccurate representation of the room size online is highly misleading ||The lack of drawers for clothing and limited hanging space in the room was unexpected and inconvenient. My son and I lived out of our suitcases, which were on the floor between his bed and the window for the duration of our stay. This was not only inconvenient, but it made an already cramped room feel more claustrophobic.||Furthermore, the room layout is poorly designed, making movement between the beds difficult. The protruding flat-screen TV from the wall poses a safety hazard. My son, who is young, bumped his head on it a few times. Such design flaws compromise the comfort and safety of guests.||Another issue I encountered was the absence of hooks in the bathroom, which made it impossible to hang up a toiletry bag. As a result, the limited "desk space" in the room had to be utilized for this purpose, which rendered it unusable for its intended function. ||Let's talk about breakfast... it was another disappointment. The photo of the breakfast bar on the website is misleading. One would think that there’s a waffle iron there every day, when, in fact, it’s only on weekends. As a gluten-free person, I have very few choices when I eat breakfast at a hotel. One go-to option should've been the hard-cooked eggs, which tasted sour. I told the breakfast attendant, who agreed something was wrong with them and would tell her manager. The fact that hard-cooked eggs aren’t even safe is ridiculous! With yogurt as my only other safe option, I had to go out to eat breakfast with my son for the remaining three days of our stay. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was because of breakfast being included in our stay. Having this extra added expense was not cool.||Frustrated with this property, I contacted Bonvoy, who offered me a weak apology. As a loyal SPG/Bonvoy member since 2004, I have always had high expectations for their properties. SPG had a high level of customer service, but Bonvoy's meager attempt at an apology fell short. ||As another reviewer said, this hotel shouldn't be a SpringHill Suites since these rooms are not suites! The rooms are micro-hotel rooms. They're unfit for an extended stay, especially with multiple family members.||It gives me no pleasure to write a negative review since there are hardworking people at this hotel. The housekeeping staff keeps the property impeccably clean. At the front desk, Darrin goes above and beyond to be helpful. However, despite some good people working at this property, I will never stay at this...
Read moreBy far the worst Marriott hotel we've stayed at. The staff goes out of their way to be extremely rude. When we arrived to check in, a staff member was showing another staff member a video on their phone, and continued to do so while we stood there. Eventually, one of them did check us in when the video finished. He was wearing a black hoodie and was not the least bit professional throughout the check in process. When we got up to our room, all of drawers, cabinets and doors inside the room were opened and emptied, and the thermostat was set to 81 degrees. It was close to midnight and we were ready to go to sleep, and weren't sure how long the room would take to cool down. The bathroom door was closed with the light and fan on, and we were unsure if someone was in the room already. We went downstairs to request a new room since this one was not ready for guests. The same man that checked us in sighed heavily and said we could turn the thermostat down, and that sometimes the cabinet doors open if they aren't closed all the way. The next morning, the water in the shower, sink, and toilet was dark brown. We didn't want to interact with the rude staff, so we just didn't ask about it and didn't use the shower or faucet that day. The final night of our stay, I called to see if it was possible for a late checkout since our flight wasn't until 4:00pm. The woman at the desk said "one moment" and after 5 minutes with no response, I hung up and called back. She had apparently just walked off and never intended on getting back to me. They did accommodate a late checkout, which we appreciated. The next morning we went to the front desk to have our room keys re-swiped for the late checkout, and when we explained to the person at the front desk what we were asking, she turned around without a word and walked off. A different person helped us, but was rude about it. When we approached the desk to check out, 2 staff members were talking and laughing and completely ignored us while they finished telling a story. We weren't going to say anything about the stay because the staff was so rude and unhelpful throughout our weekend there, so we just pleasantly asked to check out. The staff member named Analia barely acknowledged us, didn't ask us how our stay was, and was beyond rude to us for seemingly no reason whatsoever. We have been loyal to Marriott for years and have been so happy at many Marriotts across the US, and always encounter friendly and professional staff. This Springhill Park Ave property was completely out of left field. We will never be...
