In December of 2022, I went to this City MD for a Covid test. I was very sick. At first, they said it was negative but asked me to wait, so they were 100% sure.
As I was leaving, they said not to leave because I tested positive, and the Doctor wanted to speak with me. I got a doctor's note, office summary, and notes on how to get better.
Fast forward to last year. During the 2023 holiday, I was sick and thought it was the flu. On January 2nd, I did an at home Covid test and saw it came back positive.
I decided the next day to visit City MD. I've never had a bad experience, and they're always thorough. However, that changed with the doctor I saw.
I explained everything to Doctor Cassamajor & he seemed nice at first. The tech did a covid test, which came back negative. The doctor decided to do an oral swab test and nasal test.
He stated "Oh you must have better covid test than we do since your test came back positive!" I said I doubt that, but I was seriously angry.
Ever hear of a false positive, or do you know a test actually being positive? This guy clearly didn't like me for whatever reason. Not even 5 minutes later, and he stated both tests were negative.
He said to the tech to give me a syrup... no name, didn't explain anything to me. What was the name of the syrup? What was it for? Did I have something to be prescribed a syrup?
Nope. No communication. I walked past the desk, and not one staff member asked if I was OK, if I needed anything, or if I was finished. No note of a prescription, no visit summary, no doctor's note, etc
I waited in the lobby for almost 20 minutes. Everyone before me and after was asked the previous questions. Very suspect, maybe because I'm more Italian American in appearance because of my last name?
Never again. I'm done with this place. I came here to see what was wrong and got treated like I was an illness and a joke. I do not recommend this place.
It's sad I went here for over 7 years but never again. I'll go elsewhere...
Read moreI don't typically leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience at this CityMD location. Unfortunately, my visit went from being one of my favorites to one that left me deeply uncomfortable and disappointed. Initially, I came in for an antibiotic shot, and I was already feeling a bit self-conscious about the reason for my visit. When I approached the front desk, the staff member asked about the nature of my visit. Given the sensitive nature of my situation, I didn’t feel comfortable sharing those details openly, especially not at the front desk. However, the staff member’s tone and behavior made the experience even more uncomfortable. He asked for my ID in a way that seemed a bit dismissive, and then handed me a form to fill out. After I submitted the form, he approached me in the waiting area and, rather loudly, made an announcement about my results not being available in the system yet only some were and the possibility of having to pay an additional visit fee. This was done in front of others in the waiting area, which felt unprofessional and embarrassing. While I understand that he was likely trying to explain the situation, I believe there was a more discreet way to handle this. A more private conversation at the front desk would have been more appropriate, especially given the sensitive nature of why I was there. I was told over the phone by CityMD representatives to come in, and I did not expect to be subjected to such a public discussion of my personal health matters. In the end, I was able to get the care I needed. The doctor was professional and understanding, and he reassured me that he would take care of the situation. Although I understand the staff member’s intention to avoid an additional fee, I still feel that the manner in which the situation was handled was inappropriate. For those looking for a discreet and professional experience, I would recommend considering...
Read moreI came into CitiMD with severe flu-like symptoms. I had a fever but took Tylenol before leaving, along with Sudafed to help me breathe a little. My biggest struggle was a persistent, painful cough that wasn’t improving.
I saw the PA, who was pleasant, listened to my symptoms, and ran some tests. He confirmed it was the flu, and then the doctor came in. Instead of offering real treatment options, he just told me to rest and drink fluids—which I had already been doing for days. That’s exactly why I came in: because home remedies weren’t enough, and I needed real medical help.
I tried to explain how bad my throat hurt, the pain in my chest, and how I was coughing up green phlegm, but the doctor didn’t seem interested. He barely acknowledged my concerns and just repeated the same generic advice: “warm fluids.” Again, I had already been doing that. Clearly, he didn’t want to listen.
When I asked how I was supposed to rest when I couldn’t sleep due to nonstop coughing, he prescribed a basic cough suppressant (just one level above OTC) and an inhaler. But my cough is productive, not asthma-related, so the inhaler made it worse. I still can’t breathe deeply without triggering intense coughing, and despite the medication, I’m still coughing up green phlegm.
Yes, I know I have the flu, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have something else going on too. The doctor dismissed my concerns instead of truly evaluating my symptoms. Telling me I’d “be fine by tomorrow” was not only unrealistic but also dismissive of what I was experiencing.
I probably won’t return to this location, and if I have to, I definitely won’t see this doctor again. I want to work with medical professionals who actually listen to their patients rather than brushing them off. The front desk was very pleasant and PATIENT with me as I struggled in between coughing attacks so i was appreciative of that. But the quality of medical care wasn’t up to...
