Collector Cave — Attraction in New York

I'd caution against preordering anything from them. I preordered 3 action figures scheduled for March release. The prices were higher than retail which I find is fairly common in comic and collector shops... But I (wrongly) assumed the shop would receive the figures at release since they are a collector shop and have direct access to the distributor. And then ship them to me. Imagine my frustration at seeing the very items I preordered available on the shelf at Target.... For cheaper than I paid. And I had yet to receive any sort of shipping information. I had to email the shop for an explanation and was told they were waiting on a figure... That was already released and available elsewhere. So I requested to cancel the preorder. I was told there is a 10% order cancellation/restock fee... Which is confusing since said item wasn't actually in stock. After a caddy exchange I was charged 10% for the order cancellation. I have since gotten the figures in hand for less than the original charge of this order... Including the 10%. I've read through various other reviews and see this isn't a wholly uncommon issue with this shop. And it's also not uncommon for them to respond with more caddy nonsense. I find this to be a poor response for a business. So I caution you to avoid this shop for preorders. Who knows when you'll receive them. They this shop is going to try to get your money any way... So be careful.

Update... So this "business" likes to retort to their bad reviews. If you look through the load of bad reviews you will see this sad activity. Instead of arguing with former customers try to be a better business and move on. They like to cast aspersions and make the reviewer seem like the one in the wrong when the business is offering a service that isn't realized. The customers aren't happy. Period. Your quippy replies don't help anything. So I'd given them a two star review... But I've lowered it to one because they are so defensive. Don't be like Collector Cave. Be a good...

Ordered 2 items from them after seeing their ad on FB for free shipping. I didn’t see that the items were listed as pre-order a month after they were released in stores until after I had purchased but didn’t think anything of it since they’re not rare or hard to find items and figured it just be a couple weeks. However we’re now 2 1/2 months after the items release and 2 weeks after the listed pre-order month and the items not only haven’t shipped but I can’t even get a date to expect them to be shipped. Items were listed as May pre-order even though they dropped April 1st. It’s now June 8 and they say they still haven’t received the items and threatened me with a 15% fee for canceling a pre-order even though we’re well past the posted pre-order date. I do not recommend giving these people your business at all but especially for online orders.

Update: June 22 They informed me they still hadn’t received my items and have no idea when I could expect them to arrive. They did offer an online credit which I denied because I want what I paid for an online credit wouldn’t honor the free shipping promo I originally placed my order with forcing me to either choose lesser items or pay more for shipping. They must’ve gotten tired of hearing from me every 2 weeks because they refunded my money but still took their fee for cancelling even though I didn’t cancel. They failed to deliver. It’s 100% a scam to get your money then force you to either take an online credit for things they can’t sell in store or steal your money with a...

I’ve been collecting comics since 83.. I’ve been to this store a couple of times recently and maybe when he opened he had some good comics but his inventory is sub par .. both of the times going in to the store the owner wasn’t exactly very good at customer service he was begrudgingly rude .. so I decided to maybe surprise him with some comics I called on a Monday and we scheduled to meet for Thursday .. come Thursday he’s not there and his employee said he won’t be in .. so the bag of comics I prepared i started to show him the new mutants daredevils X-men uncanny and double size.. I was waiting to see if they were serious about store credit .. not even cash I was asking for store creditttttttttt… had the kid looked in the bag he would have seen I had 4 issue 1 new mutants .. 2 ninja turtles Eastman and Laird … alll white pagesss but as the employee is smiling looking through what I showed him already which mind you he creased My number 2 issue of new mutants .. his boss begrudgingly texted him and told him too tell me that they were dollar comics .. I was trying to save myself the trouble of getting these comics graded as well as supporting a small business in my neighborhood .. if you’re looking for funkopop this is the place to go .. as far as comics you might find a new mutants issue 1 in...
