AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID... Don't park in there. It's a money trap. Here's a little back story of how I ended up needing to park in there... I was passing through the Bronx while I was on hold with B.O.A. Credit Card and stopped in there to see if the brick & mortar B.O.A. bank could help me with my issue. Sadly, the bank representative and I were on hold for almost an hour, (Diana you're a ROCKSTAR), and then it took another 30 minutes to get my issue resolved. Since I'm not familiar with the area or its parking, I assumed it was the norm/standard. Use your debit or credit card to pay, and the tapped up control arm goes up, and you get to leave there unscathed.... OOH, NEVER ASSUME ANYWHERE PARTICULARLY IN NYC First of all, when I pulled into the parking lot and drove up to the control arm, I didn't stop to get a ticket or have any way of knowing if the arm upon leaving even works. Now, when I attempted to exit the parking lot, I was a bit confused as to what I was supposed to do in order to leave since there are 2 exit lanes with more tape on their control arms. So, I saw a young man talking to someone in their car who was holding up the exit, so I asked, "How do I get out of here?" The man replied," Scan the QR code," and pointed to the opposite exit since he was talking to the person in the car ahead of me. After I had backed up to the other side and proceeded to scan the code, I pressed the link on my phone and still had no idea what to do or how to pay. So again, I had to get the guy's attention, and finally, he came over to assist. He told me to press details on my phone to see what I had to pay. For an hour and twenty-two minutes, the price was 20.99. (I'm sorry I didn't take a screenshot of it) When I got upset, he the (parking attendant) was able to change the price, which he made $10.99. All while proceeding to tell me that the B.O.A. has their own QR code, and I'd only pay $5.99. Way better price if you ask me especially due to the circumstances in which I ended up there in the first place. Now, I head back to the bank and scan their code and I go back to the exit only to have to waste more time trying to figure out how to get to where I can just pay and leave. Turns out you have to put your credit card information into the Metropolis Abyss. When I tried to inquire where or who has access to my credit card information, no one knew anything. Thankfully, through my tears of frustration, an angel emerged and paid for...
Read moreI love this sketchy run-down, neglected car park masquerading as a strip mall. CONSISTENTLY Greeted at the entrance by bums begging for change, dollars & food, there's a rotating cast of maybe 3 or 4 permanent fixtures whose palms are open + turned toward the sun + arms out-stretched, always reaching out for your money, ready to take and grab in less than a moments notice. If you venture into one of the few entrances (it's mainly on- ramps for cars coming off the avenue) you will likely pass the bootleg street art (art school reject siloettetes, bootleggers airbrushed tee-shirts and awful lingering charcuterie experiences. There's a mega super market which seems to be the main draw. Behind it is the graveyard: a staircase that leads to nowhere. The remains of a petland discounts. remnants of an invisalign-type dental storefront.
This place has got it all! You'll step over heaps of broken glass from the recycling machines, You'll smell the meat isle spilling out from the Food Universe entrance only .75 kilometers away- Blood. Sawdust. Heroin addicts in withdrawal! New Yorks hottest new nightclub is " BX6 " But don't forget to ask someone for a reciept because the select bus is a magnet for undercover cops just looking to get a...
Read moreMy opinion is that the food court should've stayed and all the old stores and everything before it was closed down. The mall would have more visitors... Please add more into the multiplex / buffet area (upstairs) it'll be such a big improvement
update six years later and I'm still salty about the food court being removed. cuz why would you remove your main source of customers who cares if crime was happening? this is the Bronx. crime happens everywhere and I'm pretty sure it wasn't as bad as what happens outside the mall. Now it's dead as hell and there's so much vacant space. same thing is happening to the terminal market. like how did Marshalls close If every time I went there there was always a long line that lasted at least 20 minutes?? that was really the only place nearby could get a good sweater that didn't look corny. don't even get me started on Burlington because people were really wait in line for 30 minutes just for one thing. I hate going in there. I keep backtracking so let me get back to this mall.... it could definitely use a food court or something of the sort again, even though most of the places in here already have their own stores...
