I went in to pick up a few items for myself and my child, everything was fine until i got to the register. The cashier scanned my items and I noticed a discrepancy in prices for the same product just different type (Crystal Farms shredded cheese vs Crystal Farms chunk cheese) I went back to get the proper sign (as I was a former cashier and signage placement associate for a different company) i showed her the sale sign and pointed out the date and wording of the sign. I was totally in the right. The cashier as well as the front end supervisor both confused the word 'shredded' for cheedar and insisted that the flavor of the chunk cheese was the problem. Instead of correcting their error they doubled down on their ignorance and tried to give me a different flavor that i wouldn't use in my recipe. Still determined to get my items i told my son to get an additional cheese, the shredded kind, that rang up for the sale price and realized their choice was to try and cheat me but it was my choice to spend my money there and accept it. So, i left. Fyi this is the store at 161st mall in the Bronx. And as usual the front end cashier (tall African lady who I've never seen wear a name badge) had a nasty attitude especially for someone who was wrong and illiterate. To be honest, I wanted to go to a different location but I also realized that although the cashiers were at fault, it's the company that lets them get away with behaving that way. So it was...
Read moreI have been going to food bazaar over the years ,and I would prefer to go there because everything iused to be fresh when it came to meats. I no longer go there for any prepackaged meats ,pork or fish. I have brought these items and when I got home and opened the package to use it to cook with it had a foul smell. Unfortunately food bazaar does not put managers specials on anything like I have discovered other supermarkets do since I switched the meat in the other supermarket I go would get sold before it hits the expiration date and I have not had a problem since I had stopped shopping at Food Bazaar. These were the items I brought over the last 10 months on different trips and were rotton I brought a beef steak shoulder 12lbs ( on receipt it said knuckles meat) tiapia fish 3 in a pre packed tray by food bazaar, pork stew chucks, pork chops, neck bones. Cubed steak in package and the prepackaged honey ham that did have a special 2/$7 which is rare but sticky and foul smelling...
Read moreThis Food Bazaar would be alright if not for the terrible Customer Service. There's a head Cashier named Florence who is absolutely Nasty. If a customer dares asks her a question she would address them as if she is talking down to them and customers are beneath her. Unless you speak her language, that's when she will be calm and collected. Too many incidents where if she doesn't want to answer or be bothered..she would say go meet the store manager and he is in the the office- then she will walk away. Or just Ignore. I understand people can be cmplicated at times but that never gives any staff the right to respond harshly. If trained properly, she is supposed to know better. The Food Bazaar on 163rd isn't that way nor does any of the cashiers speak to customers in a belittling manner. I will not be returning to this branch. Kindly retrain Florence the "Head Cashier";unfortunately the Head title has gone to her...
