Today I was so disappointed with this place because I had a taste for some Caribbean food and this is a decent restaurant a little salty but you settle. So, I go in because I had a taste for curry chicken. But when I get there and looked into the pan , it was nearly empty. It was just loose small pieces of chicken separated from the bone, basically scraps. (I forgot to mention that this place is where you weigh Your food). so I get some pieces of meat not bones that were in the corner of the pan. As I'm placing the food on my plate, the owner comes out and tells me" oh I pay too much for this meat and I shouldn't pick it like that" mine you if the pan was full I wouldn't have been choosing scraps and im not going to put bones on my plate and not get any food. So I showed him what was going on he said nothing. I bought the little scraps because I had planned to buy other options as well but I was so upset, I end up leaving with barely nothing on a plate and end up spending 3.00. Needlessly, to say I threw the food in the garbage. In the past I have spent over hundred dollars since this establishment been open for a short period of time. But i'm done this. This was a sign to cook my own food and stop being lazy. I'm part west Indian and It is not worth it and the food is sub par and im not only saying this because of this situation but the day before I chose chipotle over this; the food it's just ok. ...
Read moreTik Tok had me traveling from a far to this place. Initially when you walk in a big ole sign says $8.99 lb, since it was a friday night wasn't to crowded. Buffet style with lots of options, there was also a salad bar althou items looked dry/ole as if they've been sitting out all day unlike the hot food, still many options. My bill was $86. Before leaving I notice specialty drinks in the refrig, purchased two totaling $7.50. This night total of $93.00 spent (2 large tin and 1 small tin, two packs of cookies, two drinks)
Pro: Food was actually good after all I made my own plate LOL
Con: All pounds aren't created equal... you walk in under the assumption SPECIFICALLY when first walking in a big ole chalk board sign saying $8.99 lb. All customers are not familiar and from the neighborhood. Sign should be more specific especially if pound vs pound depends on whether you pick up the small, large or plastic tray. The dessert section needs to be inspected daily, clear molding on cakes and sliced cheese cake, cashier didnt know what some items where (old, melting in saran wrap) lastly attention needs to be paid to the tables, just dirty.
As I leave a crowd forms... busy spot as there are courthouses, police station, shopping area and residential areas. They will get them coins regardless of my review. Now will I travel that far and spend that much on 3 plates, probably not... but...
Read moreAVOID RUDE AND WILL NOT GIVE REFUNDS EVEN IF THE FOOD IS SPOILED OR HAS MOLD ON IT.
I had a simple order beef patty and Coco bread.
When I arrived back to my workplace and opened the bread, I found a white spot in the bread. I believe this was mold in the bread. When I called to tell them about it they asked me to bring the bread back to them.
I then brought the bread back to them. When I brought the bread back I met with Kiki, the manager. She was rude, unpleasant, and uninterested. She at first told me I had to come back when the lunch shift was working because she did not know me. She said what do I want her to do, and I asked for a refund. I then showed her my receipt. She became agitated and walked into the kitchen. She made me wait for about 5 minutes and then came out with an even nastier attitude.
She refused to give me a refund and said that was not mold and it was my fault because I took it out of the restaurant.
As my incredulity grew, I informed them that I could not guess whether this was mold or not while I was at work. I could not take the risk of being sick.
Kiki did not care. Kiki did not want to help me. Kiki seemed disinterested in helping me because she never saw me before even though I had a receipt. Kiki blamed me even though the food came from the restaurant that she worked in.
I eventually left and I will...
