Had a bad experience with neighbors arguing, hogging the shared bathroom, just being nasty. Eventually they got kicked out because their room was filthy. We keep our room decent but the place is INFESTED with roaches. They're EVERYWHERE. The cafeteria has them on the microwave carts and there are always flies. Most people are decent, staff and residents. Some staff has a real issue with being professional, talking about residents to each other in front of other residents or on the phone as soon as the resident turns their back. This place is hell compared to the previous place I stayed which was HEAVEN.

I could go on and on how great this facility is. I arrived on 4/17/25 and was extremely nervous based on previous reviews. I experienced the complete opposite to what others wrote. Staff was caring professional and made me feel very safe the rooms were clean and absolutely no rodents. The first person I interacted with was Ms. Phillips who did our intake she was detailed and made sure we understood all. Kyra Johnson (my case manager) is amazing and hold a special place in my heart, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do to help me. Sheena Authur (case manager supervisor) another amazing soul, even though she wasn’t my case manager she always welcomed me and helped me with any questions I had if my case manager was busy. Ms Denise (security supervisor) the sweetest and nicest person every morning you would see Ms. Denise doing her rounds and saying good morning to the community. If there was any issue Ms. Denise would take care of it promptly. The maintenance crew was also nice and worked hard to keep the facility clean. Ms Vaughn ( director) also very nice and caring and is running a great facility. Due to tragic events, on 7/14/25 I had to have an emergency transfer to another shelter. To all the staff thank you for what you guys do every day. People forget these employees are human and they are dealing with 200 different personalities and they show up for us everyday and help us. Thank you to the staff for everything you guys did for me. I truly appreciate every single one...

The upper management crew like Denise, another supervisor that refuses to give her name but is a religious fanatic trying to convert people and the night supervisor Victor along with the Program Director Michelle Vaughn have repeatedly lied about many things including about the housing available. Michelle vaughn is a tyrant that abuses the case workers which is why so many quit. The staff has zero training in mental health. They also falsify documents and refuse to let you have your own copy. They create false incidents reports to get people out. They purposefully do not inform clients about their rights.

The only time the attitude changes is when DHS or OTDA comes to check, then Michelle and Denise act friendly to the residents they previously abused. They send maintenance to fix everything they wouldnt fix properly before. They are a bunch of hypocrites.

The shelter system is a waste of tax payer funds, they employ people that engage in abusive tactics and they retaliate in a hostile manner if you complain. Michelle Vaughn also screams at the residents and openly states that she refuses to provide housing for anyone with mental health issues. They have been recorded behaving this way. They have signs to not record so they can keep getting away with their abusive behavior. These people should be fired and sent to...

People work here help has much as they can. But it is the people that stay here and getting high, and claim to be gangster's also drug deals going on! Some Security is working hard but it only so much they can due. We need more secure, more housing specialists. Security needs body armor, and taser's! 2:30Am-3:00 I woke up my wife and we take medication and they're are old people that are staying here, and people waking up in the morning to go to work sorry buy I have to say this I don't eat in my room alot of roaches not good at all. People that are stay in the shelter around the time 2:30Am-3:00 in the morning are loud, flashing flashlight's, burning pieces of paper and throwing in the grill and breaking bottle's. I don't condone that at all. I talked to security they said we can't do anything because they are not on the front property if they were then we would step in and say stop. Now I don't care if people come out in the front of the shelter to smoke a cigarette that's fine with me but the other stuff needs to stop. The security doesn't go there to the A train because they don't know what these people have on them Guns or Knives security doesn't have nothing to protect themselves at that time and it is the night time security needs bullet proof vestes and taser's!We need to be more secure in this...
