I have been a member of Crunch Richmond Hill since the gym opened in this neighborhood. As with any business, there have been ups and downs with the quality of service of this establishment. Despite it all, I have been a loyal customer. I do, however, have to complain about the steady decline in cleanliness and it's unsanitary restrooms. I am a member who works out in the morning, before work. At 5 am, customers can expect a warm welcome from Oliver, who gets a shoutout for always smiling and saying "good morning" back when I walk in, other front desk workers don't. But you will also find a gym that has not been cleaned the night prior. This week, every time I have gone to the gym one stall in the men's room has been out of order and the other clogged. I had to plunge into the toilet to use it! Today, both toilets were clogged and so was the single stall upstairs. This means, there were no toilets available for use by the men at the gym! I also must mention, that the trash bins in the stalls were overflowing just like the toilets. And there was trash all over the men's locker room. Not to mention the showers have been gross as well! As a long-time paying customer, the bare minimum I expect is cleanliness. I hope that management considers a better closing routine, that ensures the gym is ready for guests upon opening.

Disgusting Odors of Musty!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I WILL BE CANCELING MEMBERSHIP AND LOSING MY MONEY! My heath is way more important 2018 beginning: Came back after a few months because it was convenient waste of money it’s terrible.. cardio machines don’t work.. smells horrible. Like no air and people don’t wash it’s crazy. It just smells unhealthy. Thru Out 2016 I’ve been coming here for a little over a year. Very basic if your looking for a budget friendly gym this is the one to go to. It’s pretty empty which I like but peak times does get a little pack. Need more classes and time availability. Sometimes cleaning supplies are not available to wipe down machine which can be a little frustrating. Staff is a hit or miss. Some of them greet and others just seem like they just there. I have had billing issues that take a while to fix. End of 2017: I wasn’t aware that the gym is under new management and customer service is way better also the manager shows compassion and i cannot stress that customer service is a lot better. My billing issues have been resolved in a timely matter now. Definitely way different then before. Still has some issues with several elliptical machines.

I simply LOVE this gym! VERY clean, cleaning staff is always on point. It is very close to home. It has everything i need. Plenty of treadmills. Staff is very friendly and approachable. The equipment gets fixed pretty quickly. The only negative things are 1- the dress code enforcement. I've seen guys with jeans, timberland boots, sandals! I've even seen someone working out with an imam garb! 2-People leaving their belongings in the lockers w/o a lock. Almost half of the lockers are like this. Some have literally a shirt in them. Management must know but they don't do anything about it. Can't beat the price for the quality of gym, they also have a good variety of sports drinks and protein bars. Again, kudos to the hard working cleaning staff

TL;DR This Crunch location is a complete embarrassment. Disrespectful members, lazy management, broken and missing equipment, and a toxic culture that’s only gotten worse. I made great progress since 2023, but even that’s not enough to keep me here. I’d rather pay more at Coliseum and train somewhere that actually respects its members, equipment, and basic gym etiquette.

I’ve never left a long negative review in my life, but this place earned it.

I’ve been here since 2023 and made incredible progress in both my physique and strength, but none of it justifies staying. I’m not leaving because I outgrew the gym. I’m leaving because the gym got worse every month.

The equipment situation is embarrassing for a gym that keeps raising prices. A third of my workout is wasted cleaning up after lazy, clueless members who think reracking is optional. Staff can’t fix the real problem, Crunch let a selfish, disrespectful culture infest this place. It’s not a gym anymore. It’s a daycare for clowns who treat it like their personal garage gym.

Rush hour is chaos. Tuesdays are a joke with a group of older guys hogging the squat racks for two hours doing arm workouts. Nobody enforces anything. And if you think I’m exaggerating, ask any serious lifter who was here a year ago. You can’t, they’ve all left because they saw this disaster coming.

We were promised a hack squat in 2023. Then three more squat racks and the same hack squat by fall 2024. It’s March 2025 and we’ve gotten nothing but excuses and lies.

Basic handles have been missing for five months with no replacements. Machines stay broken for weeks because members abuse everything and management does nothing. Crunch would rather ignore it all than spend a dime fixing anything.

The worst part is the toxic culture. People camp on machines for endless sets, doom-scroll on their phones, refuse to let others work in, lie about how many sets they have, and let their buddies cut in. Basic gym respect doesn’t exist here.

What really sucks is this culture has even gotten to me. I always let people work in and tried to keep a positive attitude, but this place has drained me. I haven’t walked in here with any joy for months because I know the equipment I need is probably being misused or hogged. It’s exhausting.

Other Crunch locations aren’t this bad, but this one is hopeless. I’d rather pay more at Coliseum where at least the members and staff respect the gym and each other. I’m happy to pay more to avoid this circus.

And I can’t wait for the owners to slap their same tired copy-paste response under this review about how they value feedback and are working to improve. Spare me. If you actually cared, none of this would be happening. Everyone sees through it and we’re all tired of the lies.

This gym is a joke. Crunch let it rot. Save your money and train somewhere that actually...

Hello, This location crunch is one the worst service and cheating with people. Once I open a membership begging on the 2023 for my wife also took 2 months personal trainer paid in advance .. because she is new in the gym. So before she join the gym physically she had miscarriage so Dr said total bed rest. So I freeze the personal Traner, but I was paying the monthly charge. After 3 months she started her gym in one month she had 6 personal Traner sessions. After I got a call from Crunch I have due $1000 for personal training. I said she only been few weeks and I already paid in advance so where is that $1000 came from ? Then I spook to the manager he said you have to pay the whole amount.. the brunch manager the real cheater he said you Sing the agreement so you have to pay . I said we took the personal trainer for only 2 months but haven’t take 1 month yet !! Then I told him please close my membership the manager said if you don’t pay we can’t close the membership.. I said why would I pay if she didn’t took the sessions that paid 2 months yet .. she wasn’t even in the gym for her sickness .. then I left after a argument because the manager trying to get $$ without any service . Then I called so many times to close my account but they didn’t.. also keep Charging for monthly & personal training sessions. Then try to contact Crunch management they are also not helpful also looking for $$ then I was thinking about consumer Claim in the Court but I don’t have that much time to running behind this pieces of sheets people .. then I give up paying $3000 to close my membership. My request to everyone do not sign any documents with out reading because they say something but internally they put you in trap situation. The manager will put you in trap , the system will say you sign the documents we can’t do anything.. so you become a stupid .. they play the game from both side .. one of my worst experiences with crunch. I don’t recommend any to...

I had hopes for the new management, but alas, it is going back to same nonsense as before. Elevator has been broken for over 6 months. They have older members and handicapped members which need elevator to access gym. Obviously they don't care, they seem to focus on their new 20 year old members, heads up, your loyal members that stay for years aren't 20, they are over 40. Then there are the machines, not enough of the machines that are constantly in use. Then there is that monthly fee, they increased membership by $10 a month with no notice. When another member brought it to my attention and I checked, I was very annoyed. I was never notified and YES I CHECKED MY SPAM, NOTHING THERE EITHER, NO EMIALS WERE SRNT OUT, IF HOPES WE DIDNT NOTICE. NNow there is the issue of no management there till after 11. At first there was a manager there at 8am to handle any issues that arise. His hours were changed and now all we have is some kid that is useless, his response is I will let my manager know, with a smirk on his face. Another pet peeve is all the members sitting on machines on their damn phones!! They are checking emails, watching ticktock videos, IG videos, playing cards and other games BTW very few to NO SETS. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY MANAGEMENT BECAUSE IT IS BECOMING A REAL PROBLEM. I personally had an issue yesterday, ended up in a screaming match with a woman that spent 45 mins on a machine knowing I was waiting as well as another person. She sat there doing 1 set, texting for 5 mins, another set, texting for 5 mins etc and this went on for 45 mins. Afterwards I was approached by 3 other members that are also frustrated with this nonsense. This needs to be addressed. Called desk Tia manager to handle this but of course, it was before 11, no management in yet and I end up getting into an argument with this woman that could have been completely avoided if handled by a manager. I like Crunch and this location, but THEY NEED...
