I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a car from Empire Nissan of Bay Ridge, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The salesperson who assisted me, Mr lei went above and beyond to ensure that I found the perfect vehicle and had a seamless buying process. From the moment I walked into the dealership, Mr lei greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine eagerness to help. He patiently listened to my requirements, asking insightful questions to understand my needs better. He then proceeded to show me various models that matched my preferences, providing detailed information about each one, including their features, performance, and pricing. What impressed me the most about Lei was his deep knowledge of the vehicles in their inventory. He was able to answer all of my questions with confidence and even offered valuable suggestions that I hadn't considered before. I brought my Leased Nissan Rouge vehicle to Empire for a CVT error message on the dashboard, for the first time ever leasing a vehicle I was charged $189 diagnostic fee, which is ridiculous. After having the car for a few hours probably never looked at it, the service advisor calls and says the wires were eaten by a rat or raccoon, the reason he said that is because I told him it was a possibility from reading it on google from my earlier search. Next he tells me $1100-$1300 to fix, I was apprehensive because he told me exactly what I told him, so I told him I didn’t want the work done. About 30 minutes later he texts me that he was now willing to give me a 1/3 off the price and do it for $570. Totally was not trusting them at that point! They printed out a long drawn diagnostic of all the issues they supposedly found. I pick up the car and brought it to my local mechanic who I’ve used for 25 years, he spends hours going over everything that Empire Nissan wrote on the report, including looking for the so called wires the were eaten by an animal. Of course, after hours they FOUND NOTHING, REPEAT, NOTHING ON THE REPORT! SMH. I could only imagine how many Nissan owners they have deceived over the years! I’m totally turned off from this dealer. I’m an owner of 2 Nissan vehicles and for the first time in 18 years of owning a vehicle was scammed! I’m wondering who regulates service shops in Dealerships! Lastly, the day started with a bad taste from the minute I arrived FIRST TO THE SERVICE AREA, I was let in and the manager was angry the car intake person allowed me in, I should’ve known from the start that this was going to go wrong! So now I’m out $550 and nothing was wrong!!!! PLEASE BEWARE! Shame on this dealership, management can’t be trusted either!

They presented a Car Fax with NO incidents - all good maintenance, etc. A few months passed and the tail gate was unfortunately hit by a tree branch, which shattered the glass window and dented the gate. I have USAA, an amazing company, and they had it brought to a very reputable repair facility. As soon as they took off the tail gate, they called me. This vehicle was in a MAJOR accident that was apparently NOT reported to Car Fax. It had been badly damaged, structural integrity completely compromised and the entire exhaust system disconnected and ruined. The exhaust system was rigged so that it would not fall off although it was not connected properly because the prior incident apparently ripped it clean off. They said the damage looked like it happened quite some time ago by the deterioration on the cover-up that was done. It may require as much as $10,000. worth ot repairs. This was cleverly hidden in that it was BELOW the chassis level and the repairs they did were beyond amateur level - they GLUED things and left the rest all shattered and used spray cans to paint over the badly wrinkled and damaged parts, all hidden below the chassis. It's a disaster now and all because we had the tail gate damaged and uncovered what Empire Nissan of Bay Ridge had hidden from us all along. HORRIBLE to do this to a customer. I'm taking action, but now my dreams of a wonderful family vehicle are shattered and I have to spend time with complaints to Brenda Baquero, Leticia James Office, small claims court and the BBB. Shameful!

My experience here has not been great. I leased a Nissan Rogue here about a year ago, in the fall of 2023. I was happy with the deal and signed the contract. I also dropped off the Honda that I was currently leasing and where the lease was about to expire. The dealer, Sasha Shartilov, promised that it will be returned to the Honda dealer the next day and then he’ll send me the return receipt. Nearly a week passed by and I still had no return receipt. He kept giving me different excuses, none of which made sense. At this time the due date for my final Honda payment came up and I had to send in the final payment, even though I didn’t have the car anymore. This matter was resolved after I got in touch the dealership’s manager. He apologized, sent me the return receipt for the Honda, and refunded the final Honda payment.

The next issue was related to the maintenance contract. While setting up the lease contract with Sasha and the finance manager (I don’t know his name), I was told that they’ll include free maintenance if I buy gap insurance. This seemed like a good deal and I got gap insurance. About a year later I went to the service department for the first oil change. The service manager told me that my maintenance contract includes oil changes only. This was not what I expected because essential maintenance services recommended by Nissan include brake fluid changes and air filter changes, in addition to oil changes. I got in touch with Sasha about this. He told me that the maintenance contract includes oil changes only. He would not even acknowledge that any reasonable person might interpret “maintenance included” as implying more than one type of maintenance service. Looks like Sasha and the finance manager misled me during the contract signing, whether intentionally or not.

This just goes to show that you cannot make any assumptions and you have to get documentation for everything that you think you’re getting before you walk out of the dealership. This is true for any car dealer in general and for this one...
