Empire Rent A Car — Attraction in New York

If I can give this place 0 stars I would. My sister did the reservation online and received the confirmation. She then received a call confirming the reservation. At no point did they ask about drivers license information or years of driving experience they were only concerned about how the rental was going to be paid for so she didn’t think anything of it and proceeded with the reservation completion. She went to pick up the vehicle on 8/14 and when she got there she was denied the rental because she didn’t have 2 years of driving experience which if that is the case it should of been on the booking website or when she received the call that should of been discussed. The manager mike or Michael didn’t even give the courtesy of speaking to her and just told the receptionist that he listens to every call and it must of been told to her which is a complete lie. Why would she subject herself to taking the time to go to that location if she knew she wouldn’t be able to rent. This was a huge inconvenience because she was scheduled to be somewhere that day and had to find other means to get there. This was very disappointing as the rental rules are not explained prior to the reservation and when they call to confirm the reservation. If the rule is you have to have 2 years of driving experience instead of only focusing on the payment they should ask for the DL info to not inconvenience clients. This company is very unprofessional. I called a few times to check the requirements and all they told me was to bring a debit card. When I went in today they told me I need proof of address which I had to go back for and when I went back to the company they now said I needed to have a license for two years and deposit of 300 plus how much the car is. These type of information would be great in the phone call. I went back home another time to pick up my dad since he has a license for more then two years, when we was planning to go back to the company I called to informed them I was going back and the women in the phone stated she had canceled my reservation and gave out the van I had reserved for more then two weeks without letting me know. I'm from Illinois originally so I'm not used to the Bronx area and prices. I was in town and I had to rent a truck to move some furniture on short notice on a Saturday though. Called here and spoke with Gloria who gave me a really competitive rate on a 12 foot truck for one day. Well below the other few places I called. They said it could be ready for me as soon as I got there, and it was. Efficient, courteous, and professional service one I got there. Gloria spoke English and Spanish which helped. Truck ran great while we had it, fit everything just fine, it was real clean in the back and in the cab. Overall great experience with them.
