It should go without saying that PLACES like Virginia Park are a Godsend to urbanites. Reconstruction of the grounds went on during The Pandemic. Displaced homeless people were itching to get the park back. An unfortunate negotiation of public space that taxpaying citizens have no real say in. I would suggest enjoying the usage of the benches before the area becomes a haven for the homless. I emphasize this due to the economic realities of NYC life. Either you've got it, or you don't. All that being said, the openness of each entrance now allows schoolkids and working class adults quicker access between the Parkchester elevated station and the BX 36/39 Bus Stop along White Plains Road. This park is very old and there are rumors that it might be fixed one day. That's why I only gave it 3 stars.
