I like this park a lot. Objectively, it’s not a great park. There’s a janky metal mini that’s maybe 12-ft wide and 3-ft high. On the “street” side there’s a weird, long, patchy quarterpipe and then a wonky bank structure on the opposite side. There’s some oddly placed massive pile jams. Probably the best thing about the park is the manny pad/low-ledge near the front.
That said, Forest Park is beautiful, the park has boatloads of parking, the skatepark is surrounded by trees and has shade before and after noon. Young skaters and parents outnumber the angsty skater bros which is always good by me.

Read moreThe parks department forgets to unlock this place half the time, and enrollment just squeezes through a hole in the fence.
Sometimes homeless people sleep here. Next to a playground so random parents will let their babies climb all over the ramps ... just sitting on the obstacles.
Kids will drink here at night and break glass bottles. Often some of the banks are broken or rotting away.

Aside from a couple of obstacles and the half pipe this skate park is in dire repair. It is located within the park next to the children’s playgroundbut can be spotted once exiting the city bus.
I would encourage the skate community and local residents to advocate at the next Town Hall to propose for money to be allocated for repairs...
