Hanoli Cakes — Restaurant in New York

This review is strictly based of customer service. I called ahead of time and explained that I was looking for a custom cake however did not know how to put it into a design but have an idea. The person I spoke to told me to come in to the shop the next day and that we would sit together and come up with something. I arrived and first and foremost their was no greeting. The girl just stared at me. When I told her I wanted to order a cake she asked me for the picture. I explained I didn't have one but what I wanted. There was no help no customer service it was not welcoming. Then I had to press to have her ask who spoke to me as they had asked me to come in and promised to help. She then acted like she didnt say that and told me to look at pinterest put something together. I would have done this last night had I known. I traveled from 45 mins away to the store because I found them on Instagram. While I sat there trying find pictures no one attempted to help or even give us ideas seeing I had my 11 month old son being impateint. Finally we decided to just leave and as I walked out again nothing no help nothing. The store had no one. They just sat there. Needles to say I'll be taking my business elsewhere sometimes its best to stick to who you always go to. It's a shame because they have beautiful cakes but their customer service is not good. El sábado 29 que era la celebración de mi cumpleaños, por primera vez iba a celebrarlo, quería algo bien delicado y bonito por eso mismo venía hace muchos meses planeándo mi evento y buscando un bonito pastel.

Encontré esta página en Instagram publican unos trabajos bonitos, pero creo que quizás solo lo hacen bonito para la presentación de sus fotos Instagram porque a la hora de entregarme el cake no vi dedicación y sobre todo nada de similitud al que yo pedí. Creo que en un negocio todo va de la mano, ser cordial y el servicio al cliente eso no tiene precio.

Cuando les escribo a ellos en Instagram preguntándole si podrían hacerme un cake que ellos mismos tenían en su página y si podrían darme el precio, la persona que me contesto me dijo que si podrían hacerme el cake, pero que el precio no me lo podían dar por la página que tenía que ser en persona. Yo pensé, okay me interesa el pastel esta bello voy a ir al lugar y cueste lo que cueste lo ordeno porque me gusta, soy así. Luego le digo a la persona que está bien y le hago otra pregunta y sencillamente me ignoro.

A la semana siguiente pasó por el lugar a ordenar el pastel con mi madre, cuando me atienden le digo a la joven, Ashley se llama... Quiero ordenar un pastel igual a este (cabe destacar que esta joven me cogio la orden de una forma como extraña como si ese día no tenía deseos de trabajar, lo percibí, pero por prudencia ni a mi madre le mencioné nada) y le muestro la foto de lo que quiero, Ashley comienza a hacerme unas preguntas, escribir y a dibujar el pastel en una hoja y luego me pidió que enviara esa misma foto al correo electrónico de la tienda y se lo envíe. Mientras ella me preguntaba lo mismo que ya le había dicho, mi madre le dijo mi amor ella quiere ese mismo pastel así mismo como en las fotos con esas mismas flores en ese color y esas flores arriba no importa que sea para tantas personas ella solo lo quiere igual quiere que sus fotos le salgan bonitas. Ella tomo la orden y según yo todo bien.

Pasan los días y me escriben un mensaje de la tienda preguntándome por la foto del pastel nuevamente porque dicen que nunca la mande, pues no dije nada y por tercera vez le envié la foto y vía mensajes de texto nuevamente le especifiqué lo que realmente quería y aproveche ahí y le hice una pregunta sobre unos cake pop que quería ordenar y como tienen un excelente servicio al cliente nuevamente me volvieron a ignorar.

Ella ya vio la foto demás, pero parece que dibujo lo que quiso y así mismo hicieron con el precioso pastel que yo esperaba.

El 28 en la noche llene tantos globos porque quería que todo estuviera como lo soñaba me acosté a las cuatro de la mañana para luego levantarme a las siete el día 29 que era la fiesta para colgar parte de la decoración y luego trasladarme hacia el Bronx a maquillarme, quería quedar bonita en mis fotos y no me importaba ni el dinero ni el sacrificio que tuviera que tomar, pensaba que todo iba a ser perfecto y lleno de alegría, pero no fue así.

Por el hecho de que no estaba en casa no pude pasar a recoger el pastel y mi madre me hizo el favor de recogerlo.

Dios sabe que venía tan emocionada, y que sorpresa la mía cuando entró por esa puerta que veo ese pastel, se me borro la sonrisa por completo.

Llamo al lugar e inmediatamente le digo a la chica que estoy muy inconforme con el pastel que no me gusta y que no es para nada lo que pedí. El pastel que quería era sweet rustic algo hermoso y tenía flores completamente rosa arriba y abajo y este que me enviaron tenia flores baby pink, beige, rosa caliente y unas en tono limoncillo, solo en la parte de abajo, arriba estaba totalmente plano, en el centro estaba muy rústico solo en el centro en los lados no tenía nada de rústico solo la crema completamente lo opuesto a lo que pedí, quería llorar. Veré si puedo colocarles fotos.

Cuando me dice la joven Ashley envíame las fotos para comparar los pasteles a ver, otra vez le envío la foto y me pasa con la que parecía ser la dueña. Que me pregunta, que te gustaría hacer yo hago lo que quieras muy cordial en ese momento....

I wanted to LOVE LOVE and be super hype about my first time purchasing a cake from here but unfortunately it wasn't what I thought it was but I still give it a 4 stars because maybe it was my fault for misreading the description. I ordered the Red rosette cake apparently only sides were buttercream frosting but I assumed all of the icing would be buttercream . In our opinion ( and my fiances opinion, I bought it for his birthday) we found the red icing to be extremely bitter, no butter cream flavor whatsoever and the white part wasn't very sweet at all. We just didn't find the icing tasty at all but the inside was moist and the dulce de lece was a nice light flavor. I would say make sure you know for sure what you are ordering and ask to clarify to be sure . Other then that the cake was beautiful. I think the customer service could be more friendly but I understand business can make one be assertive at times. I also found it strange they didn't have a box big enough for the cake to properly cover it and we had to place it in the car open .
