House of Flavor — Restaurant in New York

This place is very new, a lot of the neighborhood is really excited to have this space, but the management has to get it together. I've come here a few times now because I want to support local.

It is really challenging to put in orders, something is always wrong. Some of the workers have a really hard time taking the orders, we usually have to repeat and check the order several times. Then after that, we still have to double check the order once it's provided, and there's usually something always wrong. Sometimes there are items on the menu that we find out can't be ordered because of missing supplies. Sometimes it seems there's an issue with the cook understanding the order. Today we ordered breakfast and the cook butchered the order big time. We ordered the simplest items: BEC and a seperate bagel with cheese and bacon. Somehow we ended up with a bagel with ham, egg cheese bacon and cream cheese. The communication is really poor.

Unfortunately we're at a point where it might be too challenging to come here for big orders (more than one item).

Please check in with your employees. They seem to have a hard time following direction and maybe even reading and processing the orders. Everyone has been accommodating with making corrections to the orders, but it really seems like a skills issue that might hold this place back.

This place should not be labeled as a "Cafe" there was/is no pastries or muffins, danishes in sight. The menu looks more like a sandwich spot. Walked almost half an hour thinking we would sit down at a nice Cafe and enjoy a pastrie and coffee, which they didn't have, then we tried settling for something that was there and picked something on the menu. The guy in front had no clue what we were talking about and was lost looking at the menu to figure out was we were asking for 5 minutes later messing with the register trying to place the order looked extremely confusing, going back and forth to the kitchen and back. Afterward, we tried to place our order. After all of that, he was still confused about if they even had what we ordered. After spending more than 10 minutes trying to place an order without success, we canceled our order and left. It's not like they started to make anything after all...

The people there were very kind and attentive. As soon as I walked in they made sure they welcomed me and offered me a menu to look at and choices that might interest me. I had only ordered the chicken wings because I wasn’t that hungry and they were quick to prepare it and offer me any sauces I may want with it. I don’t usually leave reviews over this but the only reason I am commenting is because I had just tried one of the wings and OH MY GOD lemme tell you, these are one of the most delicious wings I have ever had. And I had just went to Buffalo Wild Wings the other day. These wings are so tender and juicy on the inside and so perfectly golden crunchy on the outside. Maybe it’s because at the time there was no line so they were able to focus on solely my order but UGHHHH SO F*KN GOOD. I appreciate them so much, amazing service and good food, I’m definitely gonna try to come by...
