It's a shelter!!!!! Get in , stay on top of everything, and COMPLY. If needed , report any complaints regarding any issues with your unit to your case manager or front desk. DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO AND GET THE HELL OUT. People be getting too comfortable and then lose sight of why they're there in the first place. Don't get caught up in any drama and stay to yourself. Was there from November 2022-April 2024 and now I have a beautiful apartment for my children and I. It definitely was a very trying journey but I did it and I'm glad it's over. Conditions wasn't the best but I made the best out of it and very grateful that I had my own bathroom, kitchen, a living area, and my room. I was basically in a railroad apartment. You don't get that at too many shelters so grateful is an understatement for how I felt. If you have a vehicle, if possible, invest into a garage because it isn't the best area !!!! I just got out All Glory To Jehovah. Now in a 3 bedroom 2 story house however it wasn’t easy at all. These office workers are not helpful at all. I have emails still proving it all. From forged documents to not sending in proper paperwork to even after moving out trying to jack up my furniture money broker fee voucher etc. I literally had to take everything in my own hands to get out. Had I not done the paperwork myself I would not have an ehv voucher nor my security deposit furniture money etc. Do not just take the housing specialist or case managers word for nothing. They need new staff with morals because these people will mess up your paperwork and keep you trapped in the shelter. They don’t care about anyone in there just their pockets. It’s scary how depraved selfish and wicked these people are. Again I have emails of them lying telling me they took care of stuff with HPD but when I contacted them I’m hearing another thing. My best advice is get a laptop some wifi and after they apply you for EHV once you finish the interview handle the rest by yourself. That’s how I got my EHV. This is the worst shelter to live in they have rats that eat up your food and the rats bite my children they gave me a hand me down fridge that smelled nasty and it’s very unsanitary they don’t like to fix the units my food spoiled the director there didn’t even wanna help the staff are rude they steal your packages and they show to much attitude and discrimination and the director there is unprofessional and causes confusion and is very dishonest with shelter transfers and everything in general and they do not help you with housing.. and the housing specialist there is very ghetto and unprofessional and it’s to many excessive hills and traveling and the shower there is unsafe the water runs out they say it’s ADA and it’s not ADA.. I would never recommend nobody to stay at that shelter I also notified the director about the excessive noise above our head with dragging chairs and banging at 3 am in the morning and the director lied and said she was gonna take care of it and she didn’t and she also lied about giving us a certain voucher and never did the shelter just has poor...
